That was not avoidance. That was a factual statement.
Sure.
That was not avoidance. That was a factual statement.
But did brown deserve to die that night? Was no solution satisfactory if it did not end in browns death?
I have some questions.
Is it not the responsibility of each state to take measures necessary to protect its citizens from lawlessness?
Show me where this so called rebellion in Ferguson was justified? Because where I am sitting, I can show you where it was manufactured.
I didn't even come close to saying it was justified, and have no intention of arguing that it was.
PEACEFUL protest was justified.... looting, stealing, threatening mayhem and burning down half the town for the sake of a violent thug who resisted arrest was not.
But it does, like the Bundy Ranch, point out that the pot is boiling over on issues of Fed overreach and questionable police shootings.... neither was a good example of these but when people get mad enough they don't care.
A full blown riot where homes and businesses are burned to ground is so far worse than the Bundy Ranch. I'll gladly take a standoff where rednecks point their weapons at Federal Agents over the riots.
I don't support either cause, but the Ferguson riots had people die and homes destroyed. That alone makes it worse than some hick not paying taxes.
Cops should not be shooting unarmed teens and kids in the street dead. If they do, they should expect to be scrutinized to the fullest extent.
Shutting down an interstate highway and pointing rifles at other people is less bad than arson and robbery? In what uncivilized society do people believe such a thing?
No, we can't have that. The police are always perfect and the police are always right. That is, as long as they only **** blacks and browns and not whites. /snark
Ferguson also shut down a highway, and they injured six people. There's people in Ferguson right now looking for work because their store was looted then burned to the ground. Yes, I do believe that is far worse than a standoff where you have Right Wing Nut Jobs pointing weapons at Federal agents.
Regardless, they're both wrong. Everyone involved in defending Bundy that pointed weapons at the Federal Agents should be arrested and anyone involved in the riots should be arrested. But if I had to choose between a riot and the Bundy Ranch, I'll go with the Bundy Ranch.
That sounds like you're practically letting the Bundy gang off the hook. You did see the part about their shutting down an interstate highway, right? And I'm not talking about one that's out in the middle of nowhere. Interstate 15 through Nevada is THE transportation pipeline from Southern California to much of the West.
The fact that Bundy's gang has not even been arrested while Michael Brown is literally a dead man speaks to a grave double standard in this nation.
There's certainly a double standard, I won't deny that, and I'm not letting the Bundy gang off the hook here. I don't know how much more I have to say "I don't condone the actions at Bundy Ranch and believe anyone involved should be arrested." But here I am saying it once again. The members of the Bundy gang that pointed weapons at agents should be arrested, Bundy should be locked up and defend himself in a court of law instead of rallying the RWNJ to defend him.
That goes for anyone who rioted at Ferguson as well.
Alright, we're on the same page there. Good.
Perhaps. I say "perhaps" because in recent times, police have shown remarkably poor judgment in discerning between peaceful protesters and true rioters. I agree, lock the latter up, but let's deal with the underlying causes and not pretend that a strong police force can fix the underlying problem. Especially when a strong police force actively contributes to that problem.

When white people get in armed standoffs, some people see it justified and heroic... I haven't really heard them called thugs or media personalities discussing their actions in the context of "white culture," "southern culture," "redneck culture," etc. Even when a white guy commits a mass shooting, his ethnic culture is never discussed as being a possible culprit.
On Bundy: The original issue was just some farmer that wanted to mooch off government land without paying for it. However, when a small protest broke out federal agents swarmed the place and designated "free speech zones", that's when **** hit the fan. The bigger protest that resulted after that was the protest I supported. Simply because as dumb as the hicks were for supporting that Bundy guy, they do have ****ing rights and the govt can't just trample on them when they feel like it.
They are both protests that weren't entirely peaceful and show opposition to the actions of government, the difference being the reason for the protests.
