Et tu, Lizzie? Seriously? Is this a ****ing playground in junior highschool or something?

Not at all. I agree with what he said. You may want to believe you're like Jesus, and morally superior, by turning the other cheek. I don't swing that way. When you tolerate assholes, you get more of them. I never give first offense, but I am sure as hell willing to respond in an attempt to put a stop to it. I have no tolerance for ill-mannered assholes.

Oh, I turn the other cheek, alright...the other cheek of justice.

I just believe that before I do a flying side kick at the perpetrator and take their head clean off, I give them as much rope as possible first. And that actually has nothing to do with a sense of mercy, it's just that I'm running out of room on my face for teardrop tattoos.

Although I may not completely agree with you, I'll give you props for a very entertaining reply.

Some drunk began yelling at a black man (after having yelled at a few others nearby) and finally shoved the guy. In response, he got knocked off his feet with a left hook.

In that case, I would say no... today. I think we live in a more enlightened and mature society, one that doesn't support a "eye for an eye viewpoint". I mean, it makes everyone feel good to have someone who is talking **** (in this case racist ****) get a good socking, but in today's litigious world, and if the racist broke a jaw or something like that, the racist could end up suing the black guy. However, if we talking about the Wild West, and he went Django on his ass, then I'm fine with that.

And then you get sued, and have nothing left.

Actually, the drunk racist guy and some woman were screaming at each other which appeared to have attracted a crowd of onlookers, including the black guy. After the woman got sick of the argument and walked off the black guy said something to the drunk racist guy. This gained the attention of the drunk, and hilarity ensued.

No video.
Thanks for the info.
The instigator of the violence--the drunk--probably deserved the response he received.
I like that a left-hook was the decisive blow.....none of that sissy kung-fu crap.;)
