Bourdain is on the short list of people I'd love to get stinking drunk with.
My wife's cousin was married to an Iranian ex-pat and he and his friends in the ex-pat community always struck me as just regular guys trying to get through life like everyone else. Figured that was because they were probably Americanized to an extent. Apparently not.
I loved the whole "if you want the best food you have to go to someone's home" and hospitality aspect of the show. There's something good to be said for a people that seem to welcome strangers in that way.
And was I the only one who noticed how beautiful a lot of those women were?
