So you don't think blacks being portrayed as people who are not sophisticated enough to enjoy fine wine is racist? Just give them their fortified liquor and they will be happy? I disagree.

Consider what the ad is for. Beer ads always show people that aren't satisified unless it's a beer. If they showed people enjoying fine wine, I'd expect it to be a wine ad.

Just like an ad for Chevy isn't going to show people who are perfectly happy taking the bus.

White men are also depicted as heroic, intelligent, and saviors. The fact is white men get a large number of the roles spanning the whole spectrum.

I thought the point of the video is wine isn't refreshing. I
enjoy wine, but I don't consider it refreshing.

Compared to moonshine it is refreshing.

At a loss at the connection to racism in the ad.

I don't drink any alcohol beverages so I don't shop for them unless I'm getting something for guest.

But I've noticed over the past year or so that "APPLE CIDERS" and "APPLE ALES" have been a trending product that is competing with the "GRAPE" (wines and related)" beverage industry.

The video made a mockery of "WINE"...as it shows the guy drinking it grape stained teeth. Then the Apple Ale falls out of sky squashing the wine.

So to me it was nothing more than competing products creating catchy ads like the "Chick Fil A" ad showing cows holding up a sign that says:

chick-fil-a-eat-more-chickn.png

What racist cows!

It's ok for people to prefer hard cider over wine. Even if they are black.

Even if they are black!!! How condescending!!!

;)

I have been watching football today and saw this add for the first time. IMO it is racist in every way. The white guy is portrayed as a goofy little nerd while the black couple look cool and trendy. Conversely the black couple is also portrayed as preferring fortified liquor products to fine wine. I can't believe this is on the air.

No it's not racist towards "white" people because you forgot the first rule of racism... you can't be racist to or about a white person..... only people of other ethnicity's.

no vote ... there is but ONE race .. the human race ...and my way of causing the end of racism ... which we MUST do ... even as most refuse to change and modernize ..

The creator made different peoples or races if you will and gave them their own lands to live on. This is out of balance right now but in time some event will put things back where they should be and whites will live in Europe, blacks in Africa, Asians in Asia and Native Americans in The Americas.. This is the way it started and this will be again.

If you think Europe is crowded now, send back all the American white people. Yeah, that sounds great!

That "religion" you are speaking to sound more like hate speech you heard at a rally somewhere than an actual religion.

It is hate to be against taking land from others? It is hate to be against going to others lands and taking them as slaves?

I doubt you really want to know but this site has a very broad overview

Well its hate speech when you are preaching about sending people back to countries you think they belong. As far as taking land, it was a fairly common practice in those days. Lands all over the world have been taken over multiple times by countless groups. Every race at various points have been slaves especially when someone came in and took their land. It doesn't change that you preaching, teaching, or whatever you want to call it for Americans to be shipped to other countries where they belong is racist.

so that bolded quote means that they believe that a good put all the races in different places and thats how it supposed to be?
how did they know about white men before they saw one?
and lastly your religion is meaningless to others just like theirs is meaningless to yours

Hollywood and now Madison avenue have portrayed white men especially conservative white men as buffoons since they advent of Archie Bunker. You and most others in here and in America have become so used to this that you don't even see it anymore. IMO this add was to cute by half though because as they tried to portray the black couple as hip and trendy they were still trying to sell them the same old crap they market to blacks constantly. "You guys don't drink good wine, that is acting white. Here's the liquor you like. Now drink up nappy heads" I find it disgusting and the lyrics to the song I posted earlier go into this in detail.

White men have better things to worry about than being made fun of. Your right we don't notice and probably never have.

A black stereotype is that all they need is a 40 to be happy. This plays right into that and the portrayal of a white person who enjoys fine wine is a bit offensive too.
Interesting. I have not watched the video as I am at work and cannot, but based on your description in the original post I first presumed that you thought the commercial was racist against whites because they were portrayed as nerdy/untrendy while the blacks were portrayed as the cool trendy people that everybody else should want to emulate.

ETA: What I now take from your posting this thread is that advertising should use glass-like people with no color whatsoever, lest they be accused of racism because they were forced to use a human with a distinctive coloring of some sort.

Obviouly you didn't read the site and have no real interest in the subject. Some people are just here to argue so I won't waste any more time on you
