What happened to that poor woman was awful and disgusting, and the perp deserves to rot in a hole forever. That said, radical Muslims did not invent the concept of beheading people.

You are classifying anything other than the utter annihilation of the entire Middle East, as retribution for what one American did to another, as "appeasement." That line of logic is utterly insane. And furthermore, you are at least implying that anyone who doesn't immediately start cowering in fear from Creeping Jihad over this is somehow complicit in this act.

A sick person did a sick thing, and said sick person deserves an eternity behind bars (or worse; I'm not a big capital punishment fan but this is a case I could justify). But this is not terrorism.

I'm not sympathetic to radical Islam or far-right evangelicals.

But I also don't blame an entire group of people for what some of it's members do. Only racists and bigots do that.

Kind of defeats the purpose to seek retribution on someone too whacked out of their mind to know what's going on. Not that i think it's the case here since it seems calculated violence, but the mental state dictates everything we do. Justice cannot afford to disregard it.

I also think the last thing we need is a mental retard proven innocent after 30 years in jail, except under your proposal he's already executed.

Sorry but i think the death penalty should be reserved for those who confess and even gloat (like bin laden) about their crime before in the hands of interrogators. Once they have a suspect, the potential for coercion is very real.
