Fox News Poll: Voters reveal which state they want kicked out of the union

Have you considered moving to Bakersfield? It's entirely possible that there's literally not one liberal there.

Never in my life would I move there. I dont even like driving through bakersfield.

Heres the best thing out of Bakersfield, and that was 50 years ago.

It has 1/3 of the nations welfare recipients. A liberal panacea.

Which is a pointless observation because California has the most people. The honor of greatest percentage of welfare recipients goes to Alaska.

Its 12% but the point remains. Lets not get lost in pointless minutiae. It facilitates discussion.

Well, if California receives a percentage of welfare and food stamp spending proportional to its population, that renders Navy Pride's claim effectively meaningless. It's far from "pointless minutiae," but congratulations, I'm glad you're getting good use out of the word-of-the-day toilet paper.

I use the term minutiae daily, in surgery for example.

I am very happy for you.

Attempting to use raw numbers, rather than effective rates, to paint California is some sort of liberal dystopia is rather dishonest.

More than 80% of the poll's respondents said they wouldn't vote to kick any state out of the Union. I don't much care about the crazy 17% who voted yes.

I wouldn't vote to kick any out. I woudn't be heartbroken is some chose to leave including portions of California, NY, and any other blue State which a large contention of Liberals.

My parents moved here when I was young, and until Ive finished paying my bills, I will stay. THAT wont be long, and when I do-even though many states dont pay as well as here-when you factor in income tax (-12%) and cost of living (-25% when corrected) , Im going to be living la vida loca. Im already in the 92nd percentile at age 33, but im tired of paying for failed liberal policies. Its china town here.

I do really like SD though.
As a general rule, you get what you pay for. There's a reason that the prices and taxes are what they are out here.

Why not just give Los Angeles to Mexico and San Francisco and Marin County to North Korea ?

Keep the rest of the state intact with in the Union.

And let them foreigners make up all the absurd, hysterical hyperbole?

I used to believe that as well.... but after I left Cali, those "reasons" became largely bull****.

other than beachfront property ( for the rich) and better welfare benefits ( for the poor), Cali has nothing you can't find elsewhere , at far far more reasonable and appropriate prices.
as far as economics go, it's insane for a run of the mill middle class worker to live in Cali.

personally, I miss aspects of the culture... the beach/surfer culture, to be more specific.
that particular culture is unrecognizable in comparison to what it was 30-40 years ago.... but I still vacation there occasionally ( primarily Laguna beach)
Texas "beach culture" is non-existent... the beaches absolutely suck here ( in comparison), but everything else is much better.

There's no life east of PCH.

Palin must be so proud.

I'm within a few hours of mountains, desert, beach, country, metropolis, agriculture, industry, rich, poor, leftists, rightists, and I can do it with year round pleasant weather. I pay the sunshine tax. I'm okay with that.

See I am one of those "producers". I make, and I dont take. What I get are tax increases, insanely high gas prices (the state makes more per gallon than the oil company-and despite oil being refined here its still cheaper to refine and ship across country than to buy here), ****ty roads, ****ty local govt chasing liberal fantasies like the high speed train, etc.

And beyond that, those who dont pay are getting the same.

So DO tell what Im getting for this, besides a bunch of entitled uneducated liberals who can't even return change at the store.

Absolutely. I know how to find good food when Im out of state. The people are as a general not only more polite but warmer. The roads dont suck. Traffic doesn't suck. Why should I put up with all the crap? For a few extra days a year of nice weather? I like weather-it keeps it interesting.

Well there you have it. It's the native population's fault.

Over half of Alaskan natives are unemployed, they are exempt from the 60-month limit to welfare, they are as a rule much poorer than the general population (poorest in the nation), and a much higher number (1/3) are under the age of 18. All of those are causative factors.

But beyond that they vote democrat. Most welfare recipients do.

Very interesting.....I would vote for California...........what say you?

Yes...very interesting indeed....why do old people like typing like this.....refusing to put spaces after annoying ellipsis misuse....seriously...how did old people learn to type this way...

We'd be screwed without California...they and New York practically fund our country.

ya...very screwed...indeed

Gee, people who answer a Fox News poll want all the Liberals kicked out....hmmmm....

Gee, why is it ok...to type like this...but then remember to put a space after the comma when really, you should be consistent, like that...

California.... both the state and the country would be better off if they separated and we simply engaged in amiable trade with them

Doing it right.

true....but you have pay more taxes for that population, that representation.

ya...so true

so is " they are not even in the top 10"...<shrug>

lies, damned lies, and statistics..etc..etc..etc

you disappointed me..let me down..etc..etc..etc

true as well.....

ya so true..........................................................................................................

NP pulling lies out of his ass again......too funny.

much lies...................so funny..................very wow

You have been in the black as a "producer" for what, a couple years at most? You spent the first couple decades heavily in the red. Why do you feel you're entitled to skip out on paying it forward to the next generation?
