Who should be embarrassed by the drunken Palin brawl the most?

Thanks for making me click on that link. Now my computer has cooties... I (wrongly) thought your standards would be higher.

:) Thanks for replying with ad sourcinem. Did the standard make the President claim that ATM's were causing unemployment?

Nope. Nor did Obama.

Oh cmon, MG. Obama has been through the wringer desperately trying to find anything he can throw out there that will stick in order to explain persistent high unemployment for the simple enough reason that his one major idea (spend a whole lot of money) didn't work like he thought it would, and he doesn't have a backup. He's blamed Bush, he's blamed weather, he's blamed ATMs, he's been willing to blame anything he thinks might stick rather than admit that his idea to take a bunch of money out of the hands of businesses and shoppers and put it in the hands of politicians didn't work out.

Here's what he said:

...[T[here are some structural issues with our economy, where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient, with a lot fewer workers. You see it when you go to the bank and use an ATM -- you don't go to a bank teller. Or you go to the airport, and you're using a kiosk, instead of checking in at the gate....

People are out of work because mean old ATM's and Kiosks took their jobs.

You won't find me defending all Republicans, but I don't see the big deal here with Sarah Palin and her family. But if she can make Democrats and liberals laugh, that's a good thing.

That's the problem. Conservatives have never seen the 'big deal' with Palin - a woman who came perilously close to being a John McCain heart attack away from being President of the United States.

He cited a couple of examples. Do you not think that he thinks there is more? C'mon, CP, of course he does.

Anyhoo, we're off topic. I thought my little Bush dig was pretty funny n' clever, and I didn't expect to get a "well Obama is stoopid too!" retort. I'd much rather laugh at the idiotic antics of the most famous 'Merican redneck clan, the Palins.

That is intellectually dishonest. Its an example of automation taking jobs which has been stated numerous times on this forum. Big topic concerning fast food. Funny thing is there are 4.7 million job openings.

He cited a couple of examples. Do you not think that he thinks there is more?

So, to be clear, we are now retreating from the position that "Obama did not blame ATM's for unemployment" to "okay, he did, but not for all unemployment"... ?

Anyhoo, we're off topic. I thought my little Bush dig was pretty funny n' clever, and I didn't expect to get a "well Obama is stoopid too!" retort.

Oh. So, you saw an opportunity to get in a ding at Bush, and are now irritated that someone saw an opportunity to get in a ding at Obama?

I'd much rather laugh at the idiotic antics of the most famous 'Merican redneck clan, the Palins.

Naturally. Sneering at those lowbrow folk who don't think like us, clinging to their sky-god and their boomsticks is one of the ways in which the Left assures itself that it is morally superior. When Rush goes off on one of his crass riffs about "Moochelle Obama", everyone sniffs about how Family Is Supposed To Be Off-Limits; but oh! We can engage in some Self-Affirmation by denigrating a conservative womans' family? Delightful!

That's the problem. Conservatives have never seen the 'big deal' with Palin - a woman who came perilously close to being a John McCain heart attack away from being President of the United States.

Get off your high horse. Considering you've voted in Obama and Biden, I don't think you've got any basis to be warning against bad choices.

She is not a caricature. She's real. And she really was nominated for Vice President. And despite the obvious character flaws, almost half the country voted for her.

Irresponsible people shouldn't be running government. I bring this story up as a public service to remind us all of this fact.

Never forget.

Would she have been as embarrassing as Biden has been for the past 5 years?

Anyone who's never been involved in a similar kerfuffle may have missed out on a lot of fun and laughter.

Sometimes, once in a while, everyone needs to let their hair down. But not every weekend.

Remember this was Alaska.

There ain't much else to do there.

I can give you the name of a democrat from Massachusetts who ran a car into a river and left his mistress to drown....and was still re-elected.

How about a Democrat that is dirty but he gets re-elected every time from Harlem?

Rightie hypocricy on full display as they ignore six years of pounding on Moo-chelle/Mooch-elle and her two daughters.
How soon the GOPs forget how they trashed FLOTUS Clinton and the "2nd dog" in the White House, Chelsea.
Not to mention the slams on Jimmy Carter's family .

The Palin clan continues their Jerry Springer antics, this time beating up people at a party and generally trashing the place.

All of the Palins, including her divorced child, both highschool dropouts (or are there three now?) and apparently a couple of the out of wedlock kids, were all at a party and it turned ugly. Just like the traditional families we all strive to be in.

This half term governor/reality show failure/Ivanka Trump wannabee is sure showing us why a McCain/Palin vote would have been a disaster for the nation.

Sarah Palin's Family Allegedly in Alaska House Party Brawl - ABC News

While I'm sure we'll have some relexive defenders from the usual suspects, who do you think should be most aghast at this latest event?

I don't think anybody is embarrassed. I think people are just getting a chuckle more than anything else. Too bad SNL is on break.

Just as it should be.

You can keep saying that but McCain is still alive and in good health.

Show where anybody anywhere pounds (your word not mine) on Obama's daughters.

Such a short memory over the last six years.

Show where anybody anywhere pounds (your word not mine) on Obama's daughters.

And obviously you don't deny the sleazy slime thrown at Chelsea and Amy .

Not at all.

They were before the PC culture took over.

Again, show where anybody has pounded on Obama's daughters.

Wow I read the article and watched the video and some folks here sure have taken the liberty of reading between the lines of what may or may not have happened starting with the OP which set the stage for just that to happen.

So the Palins were invited to a party of 70 some guests. From the sounds of it, they weren't the first to arrive so it is logical to conclude if you are having a party, they didn't wait till the Palins arrived to bring out the booze.

Two of the Palin kids were involved in the fight that broke out. Bristol and the oldest son. Bristol is reported to have punched a guy in the jaw a few times. What provoked her to react in that way? Was he drunk and making inappropriate passes at her? We don't know but normally women don't respond like that to a gentleman.

The article in the OP stated, "The Palin family was asked to leave the party after Track Palin, 21, allegedly attacked another party guest who had previously dated his younger sister, Willow Palin". HMMMM. "allegedly" attacked a former boyfriend of his little sister. You know big brothers, at least good ones, are pretty protective of their little sisters. Say anything bad about them and you're likely to get your clock cleaned.

Just a thought......

This is a great post where at first you attack others for
taken the liberty of reading between the lines of what may or may not have happened
and then proceed to give your interpretation when everyone arrived for the party and what that the fight was about.

The only question is why were the Palins asked to leave the party if they were the innocent attendees.

Oh. OK. Thanks for the always valuable foreign perspective on American elections.:lamo
