The Washington Post helped put Obama in the White House and they have no choice but to protect their boy in the White House hoping maybe Obama might actually get something right.

The Washington Post in a great and very successful paper both in print and online. How could it possibly get away with blatantly lying about the presence of certain individuals at a high ranking generals funeral?

The OP is about that Obama as CnC didn't attend the funeral and that those who were present were already expected to attend the funeral. Nobody from Obama's White House staff was present.

But Obama had no problem sending three members of the White House staff to the funeral of someone who was caught on tape committing a felony, a strong arm robbery.

Chuck Hagel, members of the Obama Executive Cabinet are not part of the White House staff.

Nobody expected Obama to attend Generals Green's funeral or did anyone expect Obama to send members of the White House staff in his place representing him. Those who were present at Gen. Green's funeral were expected to have attended. Not sure if Gen. Austin attended or not, he was third in the chain of command.

And for Snopes, they have just about as much credibility as Wikipedia. :lamo

You dislike it when "white" people call a thug a thug? Ask me if I care. And thug is not a racist term - only you make it a racist term. There are thugs of all races its a characteristic of one that imposes anti social and criminal actions upon others. Not a "black, Mexican, or white" thing at all - you can cry racism all you want that is what radical leftist like you hiding behind "moderate" tags do all day around here.

I so dislike it when (White) people use the word "thug" to characterize a Black male. It's like you "I can't use the word 'Nigga', so I'll call him a 'thug' instead and stand behind the use of that word because of the unacceptable social behavior he exhibited".

I could get past this if White people would call a White kid a thug when such a person conducts himself in much the same way as the thug-label is clearly attributed to Black teen/adult males, but the use of this word is so one-sided. You can't tell me it's "the conduct of the person's character" that gives authority to using this label only against Blacks.

As to the poll question, SecDef Gen. Chuck Hagel did attend Gen. Harold Green's funeral.

If Snopes says it's false, it has to be false.

We all know a housewife who's not even an American citizen knows more about the difference between the White House and the Pentagon.

This was Snopes sources, all from the internet. One has to wonder if West Hills, Ca. even has phone service ?

I know for a fact they don't. It was taken away when the residents were shown to be greedy by demanding the name change from Canoga Park to West Hills just to raise their property values.

Across Victory Blvd in Woodland Hills, they do have phone service.

I want to know if the White House sent three representatives from the White House expecially for the funeral or where they already there with Holder.

If they were already there it would have been seen as rude, at least, to not go to the funeral.

I would think that after 6 years in office Obama would have learned to stay out of local matters and only worry about matters of national consequence, but he hasn't.

This President definitely has a blind spot where race is concerned.

I'm sure the General was a nice man. His death is a flagrant failure of the "Training" program he was in charge of . Does that make his death his own fault? I don't know.

So if you befriend someone, then down the road they kill you. Is your death your fault?

I am certainly not saying Snopes is 100% factual, but they are at least as credible as the site you are using to discredit them. I am not aware of anything definitive showing Snopes to be misrepresenting themselves or trying to force political beliefs on people. I am sure like anything else, there is the possibility of them being incorrect on something but that article is just some writer being an ass from how i read it.

That would be a judgement call, don't you think?

Hey Kreton.

Yesterday I actually e-mailed Snopes telling them they got it wrong. They actually contacted me in less than an hour standing by their claim that Chuck Hagel is part of the Obama White House staff.

Neither of the Mikkelsons have any knowledge how the military change of command works and who are staff and who are not. All of their research is done on the internet, usaully by googling. Basically they have no knowledge how to research.

For example you have an Army infantry division commanded by a Maj. General who has a staff. An Executive Officer, and Adjutant and a administrative officer S-1 , intelligence officer S-2, operation officer S-3, supply officer S-4, training officer and a communication officer. That's the Generals staff. Lets call the Maj. General Maj. Gen. Obama.

Next down the chain of command is the Regimental commander of a regiment who's commanded by a Colonel who happens to have his own staff comparable to the division commanders staff. That regimental commander is not a member of the Maj. Generals staff. Lets call the regimental commander Col. Chuck Hagel.

Snopes got snoped. They got it wrong, there were no members of the Obama White House staff present at General Green's funeral but there were three members of the Obama White House staff present at Brown's funeral.

Valleri Jarrett and Susan Rice are members of the White House staff, not Chuck Hagel.

I think we should use the definition of White House Staff as somebody who works with Obama at the White House.

Does Hagel fit that description? I don't think so.

Did the three people sent to the Brown funeral fit that description?

Yes. I, for one, am outraged that Obama didnt send a few low level White House functionaries to the funeral (of course, they may have been there - it probably wasnt reported though), and instead sent a lowly Cabinet member.

Snopes believes that the Secretary of Defense must have an office in the White House.

But I digress, back to Browns funeral and who did Obama send to represent him.

Excerpts:

Someone needs to brush up on the military chain of command and what the responsibilities are of each person who's in that chain of command.

Are you aware that the Joint Chiefs of Staff are no longer part of the U.S. military chain of command ? They haven't been since the passage of the Goldwater-Nichols Act in 1986.

There were only three individuals with in the chain of command before you got to Gen. Harold Green. The CnC Obama, Chuck Hagel and then Gen Mattis. Oh wait a second, that's right, Obama fired/purged Gen. Mattis and replaced him with Gen. Austin I believe, a damn good yes man.

So exactly where was Obama when Gen. Green was buried ? Playing golf ?

Right! And since the person who died was a high-ranking member of our Armed Services AND the Secretary of Defense IS a White House official, i.e., a member of the President's Cabinet, it makes perfect sense to have the Secretary of Defense attend the funeral.

And it was very fitting for each of those individuals to attend Michael Brown's funeral or did you miss the parts about "civil unrest, cultural diversity and community development" all being a part of the problem as to why the city of Ferguson, MO fell into social disorder?
