Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children?

Should this even be allowed considering the health message it sends to US children that the leader of the free world can be medically fat?

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

Is electing an incompetent unqualified person to be President just because he can read a speech written by someone else from a teleprompter with enthusiasm sending the wrong message?

I would be more concerned about that, than if the person has gained weight - because weight is sometimes due to a medical issue, like menopause in the case of Hillary, or Thyroid in the case of Christie.

Electing incompetence is the fault of the ignorant electorate. That, IS a problem, and should send a loud message to us all.

First off they're both fat because of lifestyle choices that led to any mentioned conditions that might have deteriorated their health more so.

Children don't see all your analytic stuff though. They look at the TV and see a medically fat person running the world. In charge of the nuclear submarines. Running everyone's lives. Is that really the correct message US children should be having in their minds as they stare at the TV? I say no. Not only do I say no but I say that something is seriously wrong with our society if the answer could possibly be yes.

You're their doctor? How do you know it was lifestyle choices? Enlighten us with your unique intellectual insight and capabilities... please.

Are you their doctor? They're fat due to unhealthy lifestyles and you know this.

I would say this is a red herring. Competence and the ability to govern has nothing to do with weight. Although I would imagine Christie would lose the "He doesn't doesn't look presidential vote." That is exactly how my wife decides who to vote for, the person whom looks in her mind, like a president should.

Yes but the question of the poll is, do you think it sends the wrong message to US children health wise?

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

I'd take a smart fat person who had the right goals over an idiot or someone easily bought any day.

No, I do not think it does. And frankly, how the president appears should be of less significance than it is.

Seriously? Is this a joke?

What about the "message" sent to children when the leader is a liar, cheater, warmonger, narcissist, shady-mcgrady douche? We've had plenty of those!

"But GUUUURL... He look GOOOOOD."

Oh, the humanity! Think of the children!

If my choice of son was between Chris Christie and Arnold Schwarznegger, it's Chris all the way. I'll take the fat guy dancing it up with Jamie Foxx over the married bodybuilder that screwed his maid every time.

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

But it's okay for the rightist lunatic fringe to bilge all over the First Lady with fat, monkey insults .

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

We don't elect Presidents because of their weight, we elect them to lead the nation. I don't care about their body, I care about their brain.

I think everyone, children included, need to know how to judge and pick the best candidate and person to be president. Weight can have an effect on that judgement, but just a little effect when taken with the qualifications, visions for this nation, ideas and proposed solution to our problems.

Children, adults, everyone needs to look at the whole picture, not just one thing which weight is.

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

We don't elect Presidents because of their weight, we elect them to lead the nation. I don't care about their body, I care about their brain.
Though to be fair, the two are interconnected.

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

Also, wtf is "medically fat"?

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

what the **** is "medically fat" supposed to mean?

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

A candidate's weight is irrelevant.

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

Weight is relevant if you pick Palin as a VP.
Christie wouldn't be that stupid .

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

Why should I care about the "message" it sends kids? We don't elect Presidents to be role models for children. We elect them to run the country. As long as they are healthy enough to deal with the job pressures I really don't care.

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

What the hell do either of those two people have to do with this question?

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

Christie is fat and could have a heart attack as President.
Palin is stupid and shouldn't be allowed in the same country as our nuclear weapons.
But you knew that so why ask ?

Nope, they're not. Is Stephen Hawking's brain worse because of his body?

So what? Anyone can have a heart attack. Anyone can get hit by a train. I'd much rather have a brilliant fat person leading the nation than a fit moron like Palin.

Re: Is electing a medically fat US President sending the wrong message to US children

And you'd like to have a fit moron like Palin backing him up?
I might add _______ .

I said interconnected, not utterly linked.
