I don't pretend to know everything, and I think there are a lot of factors involved but how can one deny that it is happening?

Here's an amazing video caught on camera of the largest glacial ice calving in recorded history. At the end it shows the accelerated rate at which this particular glacier has been disappearing.

That global warming, its causes, and its effects are considered subject to belief is a huge problem to start with. The same as evolution, vaccines, or any other part of science. It's not up to a vote. It's just the facts.

I believe global warming and cooling are something that occurs naturally and on it's own and has been going on for billions of years.

Global Warming is a natural part of Climate Change.
Global Warming is a scare term used by politicians...
Climate change is real and humans are contributing to CO2 emissions that are Greenhouse Gases.
It is India and China that are the major, and I mean major, contributors of Greenhouse Gases......

**** happens...

When it comes to a subject of science I tend to trust the scientists over some blowhard on national radio.

At the accelerated rate that we are seeing now?

I believe there is global warming and that it is mostly/natively caused by man...to what extent that warming is occurring, I do not know.

I also believe that this woman might one day come to life, be intelligent, honorable and everything emotionally I want in a woman AND be completely in love with me.

So...

;)

Seriously, I did vote #1.

I do believe the Japanese are working on that.

Poll is a false dichotomy. The question is not either/or, it's how much of each. Ones position is better represented by a percentage.

It's quite obvious that the globe is warming rapidly, that our CO2 emissions are the primary cause, and that it will lead to significant problems in the decades ahead.

It's not a question of belief any more than the heliocentric solar system is.

Better poll:

Global Warming

0% Anthropogenic
1-25%
26-50%
51-75%
76-99%
100%
Global warming, Climate change, global change, global and climate do not exist; it's all fake.

7 options.

Then go start your on poll.

This one seems fine to me.

You at least recognize that you disagree with ~97% of the global scientific community right? That man made climate change is unequivocally settled science?

At the accelerated rate that we are seeing now?

Weather has only been recorded for a little over 100 years. The Earth is 4.5 BILLION years old. Global warming is FOLKLORE. Who is to blame for the second ice age?

Maybe you should make a new one with percentages.

You are the one complaining about the poll, while I think it's fine and yet I should start a new one?

Okaaaaaaaay.

We are done here.

Good day.

Good day.

I didn't say you had to. Just a suggestion. Perhaps you'd like to discuss the merits of the suggestion?

Weather has only been recorded for a little over 100 years. The Earth is 4.5 BILLION years old. Global warming is FOLKLORE.

Much as science can determine the age of the Earth, it can also determine the cause of climate change. Obviously, in the past natural processes have caused the climate to change, but we know they were due to levels of CO2. When the levels increase, Earth experienced a warming due to greenhouse effects. When the levels drop, Earth was cooled. There is no denying humans contribute a great deal of CO2 into our atmosphere and that has an impact on our planet.

I believe the earth goes through natural cycles.

I believe we have an effect on this earth that can clearly affect the climate in a negative manner.

I believe many of the things that we are asked to do (conservation, focus on clean renewable energy sources, etc) are positive things to do for our future (cleaner air, more available resources for future generations)- even if these things have no effect on climate change.

I believe global warming and cooling are something that occurs naturally and on it's own and has been going on for billions of years.

Which is actually demonstrable, we can trace cycles of global warming and cooling going back millions of years through ice records and the like. In fact, we know that the sun, up until about 15 years ago, was going through a warming period and, as that subsided, the kind of global effects we'd been seeing also largely subsided. Glacial ice in the past 2 years is at record growth. Certainly, man has had some detrimental effects on the planet, there's no questioning that, but the ridiculous liberal idea that we're completely and totally to blame and that we all have to live in caves and drive Priuses is laughable at best. Should we be good stewards of our planet? Absolutely and without question. Should we run around like chickens with our heads cut off? Hell no. Besides, the liberals don't want us to use the only available "clean" energy source that we have, nuclear. It's just more absurd liberal self-loathing nonsense.

Seriously? Geez, people have been WRITING DOWN the weather a lot longer than that.

This is why I find it hard to believe the man made global warming fairy tale side. Trying to claim that man made climate change is going on just by looking at a hundred years or so of climate out of the billions of years of climate is like trying to claim someone put a few grains of sand on a beach or that someone put a few drops of water in a bucket that has been sitting out in the rain.

So someone can tell you the high and low temperature, humidity and whether or not you got any rain in Redland's California on August 19 a couple hundred years ago?

Yes, they can actually make a rough estimation. Although the date you've given is too exact, they would be speaking of 10's or 100's of thousands of years ago. Geologists can trace many events that have occured in the past. Of course within reason and theories and hypotheses can change when new information is uncovered.
