He could very possibly get the nomination. He would have to run a very good campaign, but I am going to assume he will learn from his mistakes in 2012 and be better prepared.

I find it unlikely I would vote for him in the general. Democrats would have to run some one really bad for me to get past ideological differences.

He is an awful candidate. His debate skills are non existent and his speech skills are poor. On top of that he has far too many skeletons in his closet to be a serious contender outside Texas. He almost makes Romney look serious and Sarah Palin look intelligent.

The only way Hillary could win a debate is if they put duct tape over everyone's mouth or substituted store manakins. So I'm not too worried about his debate skills. She ain't no Barack Obama or Bill Clinton.

Yes, I would vote for him. Of course, considering all the actions and inactions of the Obama Administration, I would vote for anybody with an (R) next to their name.

He's not my pick but if he ends up being the person opposing Hillary he's getting my vote.

That whole lesser of two evil things sucks but it's still our reality as American voters.

All jokes aside, the GOP's chances are looking straight up weak for the next election.

Same with the Democrats.

If you thought Obama vs McCain or Obama vs Romney were weak contests, you haven't seen anything yet like 2016 is starting to develop.

I have vote third party before twice and will gladly do it again this time.

I liked when Texas had a drought and he urged a big public prayer session to end the drought.

And, instead of rain, they got a bunch more drought.

god doesn't like Perry.

I think the fact that Rick Perry thinks he could win says a lot about the dismal levels of optimism people have for Jeb Bush's chances at winning verses Hillary.

Yes, weak contests. McCain and especially Romney should have both been able to win against Obama.

Would love to see a third party candidate come in from right field and take it away from the billion dollar candidates.

He just refused to shake his President's hand unless the President had a meeting with him! He got 15 minutes in a helicopter. They should have kicked him out halfway!

That already has happened in the past...in 1992 when Clinton won with 42% of the votes.

Not really, the Dems have a viable chance to win the White House again. The GOP? Probably not.

The atmosphere ahead of the 2008 election which pretty much guaranteed a Dem win is so much more prevalent now, and it's so much more sooner in its happening.

Essentially the 2016 election is the GOP's to lose. They just have to put a halfway reasonable candidate in the mix and run a better than average campaign.

I would normally be befuddled by your opinion, but if this administration has shown me anything it is that Dem supporters denial is only rivaled by their delusions.

Hillary is damaged goods and if she jumps into the fray she will get the Dem nom.

and oh what fun we will have when she does...

No me personally...but I wouldn't wish him on the Taliban.

So.....you've been rather well off under his governorship but.....

Not following...

As a Republican I wish that were the case but it's foolhardy to think it is. We will need to pick an exceptional candidate and fight tooth and nail to win in 2016.

We must curb our cynicism however justified it may be.
