Re: Is this Racist?

You brought it up, maybe you should start another thread on Obama's liberal agenda and stick to the topic here whether the float was racist or not.

LOL.

No, I only brought it into context in answer to what I believe was an incorrect assessment by a poster regarding opposition to Obama. The poster claimed it was to keep Obama from being re-elected, and I pointed out it was to keep him from implementing his liberal agenda.

Re: Is this Racist?

And the GOP is filled with them.

Maybe but I'd say far more people voting for Obama were low information voters than those voting for Romney.

We're kind of a low information society in America these days.

Re: Is this Racist?

Well said Glen. This nonsense of promoting racism while pretending it isn't is a tired old game racists have been playing for decades. Feigned ignorance and very real ignorance team up to produce this exact kind of post.

This is a reason Jim Crow lasted so long. People either didn't think it was racist, or knew it was racist, but did nothing about it.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion.

Based on my observations, I disagree.

Re: Is this Racist?

unintelligent people?

I believe the proper term is low information voters.

Perhaps, but low information voters can be intelligent. Failing to understand context, or complete dependence on the spin of the Progressive Machine, indicates something else.

Re: Is this Racist?

blah blah blah

I suppose if you look for racism everywhere you go you will find racism everywhere you go.

By the way, according to the poll most of the people on this thread believe it's not racist.
Most of the people here are not willing to swallow the OP's bait.

Re: Is this Racist?

Yeah, how DARE he incite the racist invective against him and his family? How DARE he even breathe while the House refuses to even vote on bipartisan bills passed by the Senate? How DARE he sit in the Oval Office when he's done nothing for America except:

- getting us out of the Great Recession
- getting us out of Iraq
- getting us out (eventually) of Afghanistan
- getting Qaddafi out of power without America having to invade
- getting Putin to back off what he tried to do in the eastern Ukraine
- keeping America out of Syria since the rebels seemed to be every bit as bad as Assad (and he was right)
- gave America 52 straight months of private-sector job growth (a record)
- the DJIA has more than doubled on his watch
- the deficit has been cut by more than 50%
- government has grown less than under any president since Eisenhower
- deportations of illegal aliens are at a record high
- and - oh yeah - he got bin Laden, too.

How DARE he claim that he's done anything right at all! He's only destroying America, don'tcha see?

TB, all you really need to know about the attitude of the Right should have been made plain to you by the cheers and celebration of the Right when Obama wasn't able to get the Olympics to be held here. The Right has wanted him to fail from day one. It never made a bit of difference to them if what he wanted was the right thing for America - they simply wanted him to be a complete and utter failure, and they would do their utmost to make sure of it.

You lost me at the 7th word in your first sentence. I get it. Everyone who opposes Obama is a racist. If it makes you feel better, go on repeating that. I'll see if someone wants to have a meaningful discussion.

Re: Is this Racist?

Anyone who doesn't like Barack Obama apparently, regardless of their reasons given.

Yup, as Glen's post that I just responded to proved.

I oppose Harry Reid's politics. I must be a racist white woman who is racist against a white man.

Re: Is this Racist?

You are assuming they perceive things the same way you do.

About race!

What evidence to you have to accuse them of doing this with racial motivation?
A sense of American history and a thinking brain.

Re: Is this Racist?

Romney isn't President. Why did you mention his name when quoting her post?

Because he was the republican nominee that I'm pretty sure that she wanted to be president.

The rest I'm sure you can put together from there.

Re: Is this Racist?

But NONE of those other presidents have had to deal with the level of obstructionism that Obama has.

Look, does Obama control what bills are introduced in and voted on by the House of Representatives? Of course not. But the GOP-controlled House has voted on a record low number of bills, and very, very few bills of actual importance. For instance, the Senate voted on and passed a BIPARTISAN immigration reform bill...but the GOP-controlled House won't even allow it up for a vote.

That, ma'am, is obstructionism plain and simple. Obama has nothing to do with whether the House does or does not vote on a bill. It's not a matter of Obama somehow refusing to work with him - it's a matter of them refusing to work with him...and this was all decided upon the night of his first inauguration.

Do you only care about the house or do you care that Reid won't let bills from the house get voted upon? Is that OK with you? Isnt that Democratic obstructionism?

She was talking about Obama. Romney had nothing to do with her post.

Re: Is this Racist?

None of them....?

You're smarter than this. You really think Obama is the first POTUS to face opposition?

Hey, remember when Bush wanted to privatize Social Security?

Hey, remember when Clinton (via his wife) wanted to implement a healthcare reform plan?

Hey, remember when the Democrats opposed Bush's tax cuts (which of course they "reconsidered" in 2012)?

We could go on all day.

A degree of opposition does NOT automatically equate to a much LARGER degree of opposition.

NO president has faced this degree of opposition since the Civil War. For instance, nearly half of ALL filibusters of presidential nominees in all American history have been since Obama first took the Oath of Office. Just because you personally (and most people on the Right) want to believe that it was just as bad for other presidents doesn't make it so. No president since the Civil War has faced this level of opposition.

Re: Is this Racist?

Do you only care about the house or do you care that Reid won't let bills from the house get voted upon? Is that OK with you? Isnt that Democratic obstructionism?

there is also reconciliation: the senate and the house combining their versions of bills to pass as a complete packege.

why is that never an option for this congress?

:lamo Good one! I don't discriminate. I hate most politicians equally.

My wife does that just fine. I don't need any of you for that.:2razz:

Re: Is this Racist?

What's wrong with saying no to bad policy?
They have often said no to their own policies and their own bills just because the President accepted or advocated them. WTF do you call that?

Re: Is this Racist?

This is a well thought out post.

About as well thought out as your comment about the republicans wanting to prevent a democrat from becoming the president.

Re: Is this Racist?

The only thing worth commenting on in this thread is that the truck is pretty nice for its age.

Re: Is this Racist?

It's like beating a dead horse. I'm done with this dumb thread.

Re: Is this Racist?

I'd rather have a Democrat who holds Libertarian ideals in the WH than a radical Republican who believes in gigantic government any day of the week.
