i am black.... it was not to me racist..just showing hate for a person/prez ..i did not see a confederate flag then it would have been....lol i would do the same with cheaney lol

Re: Is this Racist?

Do you only care about the house or do you care that Reid won't let bills from the house get voted upon? Is that OK with you? Isnt that Democratic obstructionism?

The Democrats were the ones who obstructed the healthcare reform of Obama's dreams.....single payer.

Re: Is this Racist?

Liberals use the difference too much as a separating line or support beam for their viewpoint. The less credence you give a subject, the less meaning and effect it has. I would bring it up when it's severe enough to be warranted, otherwise it needs to be ignored more for the stupidity that it is.

Problem is, you can claim all you want that giving a subject less credence will give it less meaning and effect, but when the problem is already there, you can't make it go away by ignoring it...or do you think that "Jim Crow" laws would have gone away if liberals had simply ignored them?

Re: Is this Racist?

I'd rather have a Democrat who holds Libertarian ideals in the WH than a radical Republican who believes in gigantic government any day of the week.

There are really not many demonstrable differences in the way we do things no matter which party is in control.

Many conservatives don't consider the confederate flag racist.

so you hold in contempt people who honestly believe that it is a honor to be considered worthy of being elected to represent the american People?

Re: Is this Racist?

I've noticed that conservatives tend to accuse black people in high positions of power of being racist. It's like a defense mechanism.
It's called projection...
Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against unpleasant impulses by denying their existence in themselves, while attributing them to others.[1] For example, a person who is rude may constantly accuse other people of being rude
Carl Rove perfected the art of preemptive political projection and republicons who think they are clever have been using his play book ever since. Racists are heavier handed because they are not too bright and are always transparent.

No clue what this means or what it has to do with my post to Chris.

Re: Is this Racist?

It's the conservatives reaction to Obama which is dividing the country.

I suspect history will regard it that way.

if you say so.

Where did she say that?

Re: Is this Racist?

Unfortunately, Romney wasn't planning on unintelligent people hearing his words during a private meeting with supporters.

As I am sure has been explained a thousand times, he was only rightfully trying to insult those people who are Obamabots and wouldn't change their vote under any circumstances. Kind of a why waste resources comment.

Not quite as damning as Obama's "cling to bibles and guns" insult he made during the campaign in '08.

There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. And I mean, the president starts off with 48, 49, 48—he starts off with a huge number. These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax.

And why is it insulting to tell the truth. Southerners do cling to their bible and guns.

Re: Is this Racist?

I've noticed people make a lot of broad accusations against conservatives. It's like....partisan hackery.
Conservatives tend to emulate the same two or three conservative talk show hosts. The echos are not only apparent but at times comical.

Re: Is this Racist?

LOL.

No, I only brought it into context in answer to what I believe was an incorrect assessment by a poster regarding opposition to Obama. The poster claimed it was to keep Obama from being re-elected, and I pointed out it was to keep him from implementing his liberal agenda.

I don't find it insulting to tell the truth. I do find it insulting when someone demands their version of truth be accepted.

For example, you write "southerners do cling to their bible and guns.

Here's a reminder of what Obama actually said:

A political storm is brewing over Sen. Barack Obama's recent statements. Last Sunday, Obama was explaining his difficulty with winning over working-class voters in Pennsylvania and the Midwest, saying they have become frustrated with economic conditions:

"And it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations," Obama said.

What he said was correct though.

Call me names and see how long I pay attention.

Re: Is this Racist?

You lost me at the 7th word in your first sentence. I get it. Everyone who opposes Obama is a racist. If it makes you feel better, go on repeating that. I'll see if someone wants to have a meaningful discussion.

Ah. So...when someone commits an obviously racist act or if someone says something that is obviously racist, should we then refrain from pointing it out? "Ignore it and it'll go away"?

TB, do yourself a favor - look at both sides of the story, and see which side is committing more racist acts, which side actually does use racist dog-whistles on a weekly basis. Better yet, keep a record of racist acts and statements by both sides, and see which side's list gets much, much longer. And be sure to include the dog-whistle statements, because almost everyone knows them for what they are.

See which side's list gets much, much longer...

...and bear in mind that a degree of racism by one side does not negate that side's right and responsibility to point out the much, much greater degree of racism by the other side.

I'm eager to see how your list turns out.
