If yes, please explain under what circumstance are the actions depicted permissible.

No. A police officer needs use whatever force is required to remove any potential threat. 1- this is a woman 2- she is unarmed He could clearly overpower and restrain her without punching her

I agree. The officer was literally trying to turn her face into mush.

I have intentionally avoided this story because I knew it would just piss me off to no end. I was right.

YES! there is justification. It’s called walking while black.:2wave:

Imagine if the woman was Caucasian. The cop's career would have ended that same day. Assuming that if the woman was white the cop would have still felt inclined to try to beat her to a pulp.

Did you hear that the cop who did the beating was transported to the hospital inna ambulance, on the taxpayers dime, evidently to get a band aid for the cut on his knuckle from pounding the woman into the concrete?

OH…forgot to say, the women went straight to booking; might get to the hospital now that the video went viral though.:2wave:

Did she have a car ?

Local news reported she was homeless but the media usually gets it wrong.

She was arrested for being 5150.

It looked like she walking to the car in the video. I don't know. But being 5150 wouldn't justify beating a woman's head in. She was on her back in a dress without a weapon as the man beat on her. I'm not seeing the justification.

YEA! and that was a qualified officer pounding her face into mush eh?Go troll anther thread.:2wave:

Is there any video showing what transpired before she was apprehended ?

To many passing judgement without knowing what really happened.

If she were white, there would be no thread.

How do you know there was no weapon ? Did you use Wikipedia ?

SOoo...being 5150ed is justification behind the orange curtain for be pounded into the concrete by one of California's finest eh?

Even if something did transpire what could that thing possibly be that would justify beating her when she was weaponless and a woman. I can't think of anything.

That's because most sane people can tell that there isn't a circumstance in which the cop's actions are justifiable.

Lmao yes there would be. If the majority in this country are white I'm pretty sure that a white women getting beat down by a cop in the dirt on a freeway would have pissed off some of the population.

Probably not, but since none of us know what was actually happening and what led to the event or why he felt the need to act, all you can really do is speculate.

If you watch the video and listen, you will hear the guy that is filming it give some small level of insight into what it was about. But beyond a few sentences and some admittedly very damning video, all you really have is...well...nothing.

Not that i know of.On the video shown the hero cop comes up and grabs her from behind and proceeds to pound her. What do you have that justifies that act?In court that would be called an assault.:2wave:

Why was the cop there? Why was traffic stopped? What was she doing before the cop intervened? Is foot traffic on a freeway 'normal'?

Why was the cop there?
He was a highway officer.
Why was traffic stopped?
Traffic wasn't stopped. It's los Angeles the freeways are always packed.
What was she doing before the cop intervened?
She was walking in the freeway. On the side.
Is foot traffic on a freeway 'normal'?
Yes. Highway cops will leave their vehicle if necessary.

I'm not going to pass jusgement or make **** up.I wasn't there but know exactly where this happened. The video shows the officer coming from an onramp to a freeway. The woman was walking on the shoulder of the freeway, you can't do that in California. Not even if you ran out of gas.

>" According to the arrest report, the woman, who was not named, was seen barefoot, walking along the freeway shoulder, and at times stepping out into heavy traffic.
The CHP says she ignored the officer’s command to get out of the traffic lane and then became physically combative.
The report also says the officer was concerned about the woman’s safety as well as his own, and when he tried to place her under arrest a “physical altercation ensued.”
An off-duty plain clothes officer helped the CHP officer put handcuffs on the woman.
The CHP says she did not complain of any injuries and the officers didn’t see any evidence of injuries.
She has since been transported to Los Angeles County Medical Center for evaluation..."<
