It depends on who the Republicans pick as their nominee. Someone who's not rabid right but fairly reasonable like a Christie, Paul or Jeb Bush have a larger Independent/moderate/bipartisan draw. But if they elect another right leaning conservative against social programs, abortion, immigrants, SSM, marijuana legalization, super religious, war mongering, out of touch neocon they're doomed. They don't have to completely endorse those issues, as much as not completely condemn them by doing the famous political, double speak when asked.

Please again show how he is my Messiah since I didn't vote for him, don't agree with his policies, and don't agree how he has handled things? You need to take your partisan blinders off son. Just because I don't believe in impeaching him, doesn't mean I agree with him.

So what exactly do you hope to accomplish by impeaching him? I'm am by no means a fan of Obama, but do you really want crazy Uncle Joe to take his place for the next two years? If anything, I would think that impeaching Obama would make Republicans look even worse in the eyes of the public and increase the probability of a Clinton presidency in 2016. I honestly don't see anything that could be gained from impeaching him, not to mention that there exist no legal grounds for impeachment that would have sufficient bipartisen support so the point is really moot.

I might disagree with a lot of the current president's policies, but I have seen no impeachable offense.

The right is getting as nutty about Obama being some muslim, criminal traitor, as the left was about Bush being a deranged mental case.

I guess it's only going to get worse before the next election. No wonder Congress can't fix anything, the political system has become a schoolyard bullying contest.

The crazies on the right have flipped their lids now that they KNOW they can't get rid of Obama. So instead of an election to focus on (like they did in 2012), they only have impeachment dreams to think about. That is why they "see" impeachable offenses everyday.

It happened with Bush when he was elected a second time, the crazies on the left flipped their lids too.

Yea, they both let the dogs out, when they can't tolerate any decision that goes in a direction against their own. They're mucking the whole system up so bad, they won't or can't see reasonable solutions anymore.

You do realize it is the congress and senates role to impeach the president and the senate requires 2/3 vote to approve a impeachment?

Impeachment...waste of time, resources, and our elected officials don't need anymore excuses for screwing off. Voters don't need the distraction. They're too busy doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.

People might better sever their own interest by cleaning house in Washington. I've heard the war cries by voter for the last few decades ..."Kick all of the bums out!"

This year's primaries - 2 incumbents bit the dust. Why?

Why would we do that?After his impeachment in 1998 and 1999, Clinton's rating reached its highest point at 73% approval.

By no means am I desiring to defend Tothian, but I think...based on what I believe I've read of him before...that he's not suggesting he necessarily favors social conservatism in a general sense. Just that he favors social conservatism over liberalism as a whole.

IE dealing with the social conservatism of republicans (along side the theoritical fiscal and governmental conservatism of them) is better than the alternative, which would be liberalism across the board.

IEE...his ultimate would be something purely libertarian, but that is highly unlikely. Thus he'd rather put up with social conservatism to get the other parts of conservatism, than put up with all of liberalism.
