I can't believe there's a bi-partisan thread on DP outside of the off-topic discussions.

I like Rogen, Franco is ok. Obviously Kim Dong Un doesn't know who Seth Rogen is though if he considers him a gangster film maker.

North Korea's take on new US movie: "Act of war"
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea is warning that the release of a new American comedy about a plot to assassinate leader Kim Jong Un would be an "act of war."

If the U.S. government doesn't block the movie's release, it will face "stern" and "merciless" retaliation, an unidentified spokesman for North Korea's Foreign Ministry said in state media Wednesday.
He didn't mention the movie by name but was clearly referring to "The Interview," which stars Seth Rogen and James Franco as a producer and talk-show host who land an exclusive interview with the North Korean dictator and are then asked by the CIA to assassinate him.
The "reckless U.S. provocative insanity" of mobilizing a "gangster filmmaker" to challenge the North's leadership is triggering "a gust of hatred and rage" among North Korean people and soldiers, the spokesman said, in typically heated propaganda language.

I say Kim Jong-un can go **** himself. But I am sure the same people who believe that we should cave to the demands of Muslim terrorists and not show Mohamed in a cartoon or not make a film that shows islam in a negative ligtht will say we should ban this film that hurts the feelings of a piece if **** dictator.

Frack no. Bring it.

Kim Jong is a little bitch. He'll whine and cry and throw things, and that's probably it. If he's stupid enough to do worse, well that would get ugly but when it was done we'd hand him his ass.

He needs to ask himself one question... "Where is Saddam now?" :D

Uh, Maggie, as Rainman said, it's North Korea. We're supposed to be your allies
As for the rest of your post, I fail to see how the US govt is related to this. It's just North Korea with their masquerading and bluster and there's as much chance that they will censor the film as Obama having a sex change operation.

You read it here, folks. People around the world think Obama will have a sex change operation. ;)

(Yeah, that was a brain freeze re SK.)

It'd be a much better reason to go to war for than the last couple shoved down our throats.

It would be historical. A war because of a movie, first time ever.

Although I don't think the Afghanistan war was shoved down our throats. Pretty much everyone was on board with that after 3000+ U.S. Citizens were killed/injured on 9/11/01.

Except Afghanistan had nothing to do with it, even according intel at the time.

Except TheDemSocialist. He likes North Korea.

No he doesn't. He likes the Venezuelan and Cuban govts which I find incomprehensible but he abhors NK and Stalinist USSR. I despise his politics but I don't mischaracterize them.

There was also a war over a flagpole with the Native Americans in American history yet I can't find the link.

Just release/show the damn film. If the midget wants to start a war then that is what he will do... if we give in to him here then next he will say that Americans can't be in South Korea or that Ben and Jerry's releasing a new ice cream flavour will incite a war. **** that guy and the demands of terrorists...

My husband told me about this a little earlier. I hadn't heard of this movie either before that and my first thought was, "I want to see this just to see what its about". It is quite funny that Kim may have just skyrocketed this movie to be much more successful than it would have been simply because he wants our government to censor it. Schools and parents across the country know that the fastest way to get anyone to want to partake of some form of entertainment is to ban it, publicly. Many of our most popular classic novels are also some of the most often banned books in the country, which only makes students and even adults want to see what all the fuss is about.

Not only no, but **** no.

Crap... I just hit yes as I misread the question. Waking up at 4am to watch USA v Germany has wiped me out. I meant NO. HELL NO!!!
