Why doesn't America ever acknowledge Mestizos, continue to push WhiteBlack dichotomy?

The concept is not really that hard to understand, although you seem to be struggling with it. We don't treat humans and animals the same way.

I don't care what you think about race. Not out of some biased sense but because there are actual scientific classifications on race. You don't have to "like how they sound". I don't care if you do or not frankly, they are what they are.


If your husband is mixed race then so what? There's no "white race". Arabs have white skin. You don't consider them European though do you? Of course not, neither do they. There is no such thing as white. You're either European, Chinese, Amerindian, African, Japanese or some other race or a mix of races. There is no "white race", there is no "yellow, brown, orange or Hispanic" race either, as much as maybe you'd like there to be, there isn't.

Look I don't know what your problem is, you started a thread about race so if you don't care what people think, why did you start this and what's the point if you don't even want to discuss how hispanic people feel about what you want to label us as? I don't really give a **** about race or color, which by your reply it didn't even seem like you read my actual post because I was trying to figure out your point in all this and all you do is come back at me very hostile. And please show me where I say I "like how they sound" because guess what- you can't.

No Mestizo is not a race, it's a mix of races. That stated, Mestizo is an accurate racial label over "Hispanic" which tells you nothing about a persons racial heritage.


Answering "I'm Hispanic" tells us nothing about your ancestors because:


A 100% African person, a 100% Chinese person can be "Hispanic". Hispanic is not a race. It is a culture just as Christianity is a religion. Hispanic does not really tell us anything about you other than you perhaps eat tacos, which obviously isn't very telling about you.

Its not weird but its not normal. However, if we call French speakers French and Germans "German" and English "English", and many Latin Americans refer to their language "castellano" rather than Spanish or espanol, it could be to call them "Castilians", which is a general term used for the group of Spanish dialects.

Very true- though most Hispanics do share certain physical cahracteristics.

That aside, I am 100% European background. I have learned to speak, read and write spanish fluently. I am also of the same religion as most Hispanics and having travelled and volunteered in Mexico, I have more knowledge of some Hispanic foods and cultural norms than some heavily acculturated hispanics do.

So, because I share these cultural characteristics with many Hispanics, heck over the years, a few immigrant hispanics have mistaken me for being a light complected hispanic, can I check "hispanic" on application forms ala Senator Elizabeth "Fakeohauntas" Warren?

This is actually pretty common.

I remember having avowed Socialist professors at university who were 100% European, old Englishman looking guys, and these guys knew more about Amerindian culture than the actual Amerindians even cared to know. It was always sorta sad actually because the Amerindian kids in this college class wouldn't even know they were Amerindians.. They'd sit there and give detailed, horribly ignorant intellectual attempts at proclaiming themselves "Hispanic" as their race, which absolutely killed this little leftist white Euro professor who was trying to instill respect in them for who they really are. Naturally they never even came close to grasping that there is no Hispanic race, you're either Amerindian or European or African or a mix of the two, three (Mestizo).

Then again, you see that same ignorance in this thread. People running around screaming they're of the Hispanic or white race when the irony is Nobody in the world is of the Hispanic or white race because they don't exist. Lol.......


We are still in the intellectual primordial period of our species intellectual acceptance that much is for sure.

As a side note, modern anthropology is increasingly rejecting the concept of "race" as inherently inaccurate and are instead categorizing humans into about 30 DNA based hapalong groups.

As for myself, I have never seriously considered "going Warren". I have never felt Hispanic, despite my ability to linguistically and to degrees, culturally and appereance wise pass for one. I would probably start laughing during an interview if I even attempted a "Warren".

Can you give us an unequivocal definition of what 'race' means? How many races are there, and please list them? And, of course, state your academic sources. What convenient boxes a government agency dreams up to help it classify its population does not count as prima facie evidence that distinct races even exist.

99% of people anywhere are complete idiots on the topic of race to begin with as this thread shows, and of those 99%, 98% have "strong" inaccurate views on race which compound their idiocy. So it's an extremely manipulable system if you understand the basic "popular ignorance" of the day which is not hard to do. I'm a visibly northern Euro guy but live and was born here in America and I've manipulated the hell out of most Americans ignorance of race. I've been Swedish, Russian and many more because people are entirely image based and will believe anything that sounds even remotely sophisticated.

I notice that Mexican people are "White" on their birth certificates. But they are not considered White in every day life. Why is this?
