Question for warmer women

Do you hang yourlaundry out to dry?

So how many of you AGW women that think we are warming the planet use a solar drier? My guess is 99% of you use fossil fuel to dry your laundry. This may set a record as the least responded to poll in DP history. People hate to admit their hypocrisy.

I use a dryer because I have a small yard that is right next to the woods where there are lots of birds and squirrels and other such animals. My washer and dryer are right in my upstairs bathroom. How much more convenient can you get? Also, I don't appreciate bird poop on my clean clothes.

Why is this poll only directed at women?

That depends on the time of year.

...so it's just women doing all the laundry?

I almost forgot to mention the caterpillar poop. There is SO much caterpillar poop all over my patio. I imagine that would be getting all over my clean clothes too.

I also use dryer sheets too. My bad. :2razz:

Don't forget about volumes of laundry. People with kids.

Then there's people who live in apartments and townhouses. Condos.

Thievery - especially women's underwear..... thong th thong thong thong.....

What is a warmer woman?

You know. You got warmer women and hot women.
The hot women hang their clothes out to dry.

I'm a warmer hypocrite as I use a laundromat.

6 months of the year the laundry is stiff here. Frozen solid.

Why is this only asked of women? Do men not do laundry?

The (linked) list is very incomplete. No mention of heating/cooling appliances, except an electric blanket, were included. A refrigerator uses lots of energy because it is frequently opened (note that a freezer is said to use much less). Since the typical annual electric bill is $900 and a refrigerator is responsible for only about 10% of that amount then it is hardly the energy hog that you make it out to be.

I remember when I was a little kid, there were a few women in my neighborhood who had their panties stolen off the clothes line! At least they were clean, right?

Plenty do. When I lived in an apartment with no washer/dryer with my ex, we used to go to the laundry mat together every weekend and do the laundry together.

Read the OP again. Warmer women believe we are warming the earth with our fossil fuel use and worry about rising sea levels as they load the electric or gas drier.

"Warmer women" have colder hearts.

Why do you direct this at just women? Men do laundry too. I am not what you call a "warmer" but my appliances are energy efficient. Not everyone can dry clothes outside year round and others aren't permitted to have clotheslines in their yards. There is nothing worse than drying off with a towel that is line dried. You might as well use 220 grit sandpaper. There is nothing worse than putting on a pair of jeans that baked in the sun to dry. There is no such thing as permanent press when it is lined dried which means more energy and time is needed to iron everything. But after this administration gets done dumping piles of new regulations through the EPA chasing carbon footprints, many are going to find it too expensive to pay to heat/cool their homes, do laundry, light their homes or even afford themselves a hot bath. By the time they get done regulating livestock to reduce their flatulence which will result in an increase for meat and dairy products and the increase in energy cost to process any of our food, many will struggle to be able to afford to eat. Idiots.

I'm sure the definition of "appliance" comes into play on some level. I don't think of a heater or a/c unit as an appliance.

But I also included another link in another post which shows some other stats as well.

I am not a warmer, but I like to hang clothes out to dry. I like the way it makes them smell.

Especially sheets. I used to love hanging the laundry...just being alone outside with my thoughts and establishing a little order in my world.

I know that right now, where I live, if you hung anything white outside for more than about 5 minutes it would come back inside looking more greenish-yellow with all the pollen in the air.

That might damn well kill half my family by causing us to drown in snot.

Ewww. Good point though, the pollen is pretty bad this time of year if you're allergic.

Hanging clothes on a line outside to get them DRY?

What an odd practice. Where I live, that's usually a guaranteed way to get them thoroughly wet.
