High school exit exams

Do you think exit exams are fair

  • Yes, we let kids off too easy, they need to prove themselves

Well but in plenty of districts home schooling is superior to what the high school can offer. Many private colleges including the Ivys recognize that even perfect grades in K-12 don't really count for much.

I'm not saying that the situation is right or wrong. Do home schooled students get a GED? Don't some end up with a diploma if they work with a home school group? Also, SAT or ACT scores would affect the situation.

To other teachers here - do you all feel this way as well? That the GED isn't taken as seriously by some colleges and employers?

Is it because your job as a teacher is to make sure that kids graduate, and not need a GED?
