I do.

Thirty-three years.

There is one thing that is constant. That is change.

I love Ronnie but America has changed. The GOP seems to have a hard time adapting to that.

Often, I wonder if it's not so much the GOP policy, as it is those who support it, and the way they present their views. Today's FOXNews generation has a way of turning a lot of people off with their views and the way they present them. Many people do not want to be associated or identified with those kind of people. I certainly don't.

so what has changed that makes Reagan's position uncomfortable for you?

and what have the dems changed

I still see the same things

1) more taxes on the rich
2) more gun control
3) more appeasement overseas

I really don't get upset at talking heads who aren't articulate at presenting the limited government position

I think people who are turned off by such things really aren't strong willed or committed to begin with

How so? Actually, the statistics actually support his claim. Why do you call him ignorant and defying logic? I think you would have been more accurate to say that ,"In my opinion......" That would not have set you up only to be proven wrong as we are all entitled to our opinion. However, we are not entitled to create our own facts.

You cannot think of any reasons that a gun in the house might be a bad idea in certain circumstance? Really?

I was referring to the last sentence by Crue Cab.....I was not clear with the quote I guess. I was agreeing with voyager1 and condemning Crue Cab for his ignorance.

What if you get a flat tire on your way home. You have a spare? Well you must be showing "fear" of a flat.
The only thing I fear is my not being able to defend home and family at the drop of the hat in a worse case scenario. That kind of fear is a good fear. It shows I give a damn about my home and family and am willing to do whatever whenever to protect them. Anything else is for men that have no balls to do so and are worthless husbands and fathers.

Course she can call Triple A, stay in her car, and let them handle the problem for her. She doesn't even need a spare, they will tow her 100 miles as part of hre membership. No fear required...

Seems a growing list of men with your fear are in prison or standing trial as they let their fear over ride responsible actions and now are criminals.

The willing to do whatever, whenever has been used to justify excessive force to outright ambush murder, so I'm of the opinion most who think anything else is 'no balls' or worthless are mainly attempting to justify their fears.

Fearful troops try and work up their courage by beating their chests and shouting... confident troops quietly check their mags, grenades and water....

Guys like Crue Cab are by far more destructive to gun rights platforms than helpful.

why is that? on this forum most people are far more set in their political views than those people who consider it more important to follow American Idol than say the control of the senate. People who are anti gun want to pretend its pro gun people who cause them to piss and moan about gun rights rather than admitting its their own fears or ignorance that led them to their hoplophobic positions

I am a pro-Second Amendment Liberal but I personally do not have a gun. I just respect the right of others to have one if they want.

Puget sound is a very high crime area. You need a gun.

No it's not, and no I don't. And statistically speaking, chances are much greater that a gun inside the house will be used against either people inside the house or their friends or acquaintances than that the gun will be used in self-defense in a robbery, home invasion, or assault.

That, sir, is likely why homicide rates are significantly higher in gun-friendly states than in gun-unfriendly states. For instance, the number of homicides in NYC is roughly equal to the number of homicides in the entire state of Louisiana...but when one adds in the fact that NYC has almost twice the number of people Louisiana does, one realizes that Louisiana's homicide rate is almost twice that of oh-so-scary NYC.

The list is longer, and proof of it, that crime is down because men like me have armed themselves against the scum of the world that wish to do us harm.

Naaa. Live in a safe neighborhood have no need to have a gun by my bed. Its locked up in a safe instead nowhere near my room.

My husband has a loaded pistol by our bed (and in other places), and I'm damn glad he does. He protects me & our kids. Not because of our political leanings though, it's because of sick bastards like those 2 monsters in CT who killed that mother & her 2 daughters. If those ****ers had broken in here and surprised him, they would have been surprised right back.

I keep my gun on an upper shelf in my closet. My first go to weapon is my aluminum baseball bat to the kneecap. I wouldn't want to wake up disoriented and shoot my apartment complex maintenance man or super, doing some necessary repair, having used the master key to get in.

Oh. Okay....

Nevermind.

I wouldn't be able to sleep well if I knew someone else (other than a family member) had a key to my home. I'm too scary.

I beg your pardon, but there is no such thing as a safe neighborhood.

Ehh not much into the paranoia. Been one break in this whole year here. Feels pretty darn safe to me. Dont have to fear much. Be it drunkenly walking to the bars, or going on a nice casual stroll at night. Feels safe to me. Hell half the time we leave our doors unlocked because roomies are going in and out of the house at all hours of the night. Feels darn safe to me.

Do any of you guys ever worry about sleepwalking with a gun right next to you? Or that your kids might sneak in during the night and start ****ing around with a loaded gun?

OK. I'll pray that things remain that way for you.
