The last thing we need is for the US to get involved in yet another international conflict. We've screwed things up enough, time to call it a wrap, bring everyone home, and stop sticking our nose where it doesn't belong. The US has a poor track record when it comes to international policy, and it's quite likely they don't want our help anyway.

Dude, chill. I was going off his ONE STATEMENT. If I am wrong about the statement and him then I am wrong. All good.

How dare you attack the religion of peace!

If Nigeria asked us to come in and help I think most Americans could get behind that.

But if anybody REALLY wants to take a peek behind the curtain to see why the wizard is REALLY pushing for a Nigerian intervention....

Be my guest...

Oil Giants to Stay Onshore Nigeria Despite Grumbles

Nigeria - Analysis - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

On a plane flying between the more than half a dozen World hot spots.
Or at I$$A's "non-serious" committee by subpeona, before he is subpeonaed to the "serious" Gowdy doody committee.
Donate off Benghazi to the GOP .

So, in other words, busy lying to congress while not doing his job. Gotcha. That's Kerry for you.

Kerry has no monopoly as a lying politician.

Ukraine, Europe, NATO, Baltic States maybe???

Btw, the SOS has a huge personnel complement there in Foggy Bottom. Good grief, world situations like this are precisely what diplomats do.

Whatever Kerry says to Congress, you just called it a lie while not doing his job.
I see you've caught up to Caqntor's technique of false-equivalency.

On this thread, I've already noticed non-DEM posters heading in a half-dozen directions, expecting Obama to heed them all .

You brought up Kerry lying to Congress.
while your party continues to fund-raise of Rep. Gowdy's committee/pretty face after Gowdy told them to STOP.
The website is still up for ya.
So? Not quite sure what that has to do with anything.
Once again in this World, it's all about Natural Resources, Colonial Powers and Civil Wars .

If Kerry is talking, he's lying. He's a miserable sack of **** left in the sun for days.

Guess that shows you it's not a party line issue. My answer is to use diplomacy, that's kinda what we have a State Department for.

Sometimes countries need to sort their own crap out on their own...

He makes a statement of fact.

Most ARE likely dead or traumatized. Do you think differently and if so why?

....also he says NOTHING about not trying to help them. Nothing...

The 2 sentences together...concluding that there's nothing we (Obama) can do.

It was the impression I got from his post. He said no. So ok...I cant tell people what they think.

All good and in the end I shouldn't have jumped in. Sorry.

If there was a civil war, a famine or some other such calamity I would agree with you. As bad as this issue is it is not on that level and that is why I compared it to Waco. It might not be the best comparison but it is at least on par. Deal with it.

Hogwash

Not from the US.

It is none of our business.

There is no need to share in their 419 scams.

If you want to argue that, it's your business.

However, arguing that Nigeria should be treated the same as a western liberal democracy is asinine. It's like arguing that a child should be treated as an adult because they're both people.

Blood Lust!!

I'm not arguing that we should kill anyone. I'm arguing that we do what is necessary to secure the release of the girls.

...... and since we're there saving the girls, might as well rescue the oil companies. I mean, since we would already be there and all.....

And while I agree we should do that I am also wary of us entering into another conflict. We have our own problems. We have massive problems that those resources, or spending, could be used on HERE. We have a D- rating for or National Infrastructure. Our own nations is falling apart. We have homeless, an open southern border, gangs. Jeez... send in the SEALs to deal with MS13, the Cripps and Bloods first. Yes, the world has damn hard issues. They need to sort them out on their own.

I don't advocate getting involved in any foreign business.

It is not our concern, costs us tons of money, and gets us nothing.

With...without...whatever. And our general response to the world if they didnt like it should essentially be A-kiss our ass and B-where were YOU?

I disagree. We have no right, other than war, to enter another country with military forces without their permission. Who do you think we are??

Earns us a few more people that hate us, for whatever price that's worth.

That is my thought... we enter to do good, it doesn't generally work out and then we get the hate.
