Good point.
I can't remember the last time I paid with cash.
Should the US move to a dollar coin over the dollar bill?

It would save money and cost money. Savings in that coins outlast bills, but costs involved with the conversion. I voted go to coin based on long term savings. Perhaps elimination of the penny, at the same time, would be a good idea.
That's racist. Before we get any other currency changes, we need to get rid of the penny.
Most people use debit cards most of the time. I do.
I like the coin idea over paper money, to be honest. Significantly reduces counterfeiting more than anything else. Probably also make illegal enterprises more complicated because it would force larger transactions to create a paper-trail. Too bad we can't full trust the government though.

I like cash and the anonymity that comes with it... which is probably why it will be phased out.
Only in a sea of cash users. These days any big ticket purchase without a credit card would be easy to program a flag. The sales staff would be far more likely to remember cash customers in a sea of credit cards. cameras everywhere... getting cash would be on some security cam... tighten up that tin-foil bonnet...
But fear not- as long as hookers, strippers and drug dealers abound so will cash... eace
It's the little purchases that matter.
