You know you've lost an argument when you blame hedge fund managers for gold digging.

Oh please, anyone trying to bash this woman instead of the real evil here doesn't have a moral code, certainly not one that has a leg to stand on. Sex isn't evil. Getting money for being arm candy isn't evil. Being a half-breed minority that gets tired of seeing and hearing him berating her peers, isn't evil.

It's not evil, but it's definitely shallow and hardly an honest living.

Eh, she's a greedy skank who set him up as leverage for a big lawsuit she'd slapped on him. Frankly, I think they're both scum. However, being a racist scum is not against the law as long as one is not in violation of EEOC edicts, whereas taping a telephone conversation in which one side of the conversation has not given permission for the taping IS against the law in California.

Hope the skanky bitch looks good in an orange jumpsuit. :)

You do realize that you can BOTH criticize her and Sterling right? It isn't a one or another. I think what she did was kinda slimy even though Donald's comments were complete racism.

You should read the post....it is trying to mitigate Sterling's comments......but oh well.....

That last line made me laugh out loud.:lamo

Exactly. It's against the law to tape someone without his knowledge. She committed a crime.

I must be very old fashioned. I could never sleep with an old stinky man just because he's rich. Her career choice in this case was legal prostitution. If I understand old Donny's comments correctly, he also let her sleep around, as long as her partner was white. Did the old pervert watch?

She may be a rotten person. I still think it incredibly convenient for some to focus on her instead of his behavior in this situation. It's not her fault.

I also do not like Larry Johnson's comments and think them just as despicable. Nevertheless, the lengths people go to defend Sterling from criticism is rather transparent.

It's not her fault? She was coerced to commit a crime and push record?

Damn, I hope the mind control beams don't hit me too.

When she hit record, was she in control of what his brain was thinking and what the man would say?

Doesn't matter what he said. The second she hit record, she committed a crime.

Plus she baited him into that conversation.

How does it not matter what he said? That was the source of controversy in the first place. Her potentially committing a crime should be noted, but not used in a manner that will diminish the impact and quality of his words.

It doesn't matter what he said because it's not a crime and is protected speech. The only time it'd matter is if he said, "I'm gonna kill Obama" or "let's go start a riot". I don't care if he said he hates black people, he touches himself to gay porn, or admitted to cheating on his taxes. All of that is LEGAL.

See where I'm getting at? I guess you support FISA and NSA spying too, right?

So if he said you can only have sex with black guys with a big penis, that would not matter to you?

It was the source of controversy in the first place. She may have committed a crime (and maybe not-have to wait) in the process of securing the words, but it was the words themselves from Sterling which started the firestorm in the league. Dismissing that as irrelevant is beyond hilarious.

In limited amounts.

He could say I smell like fetid urine and call me a goat-f'er. He has that right.

:lamo

Well, you are consistent!!!! I yield!!!

So if I admitted to stealing the knife OJ used to carve up Nicole and the boytoy and giving it to cops, am I a hero?

Sterling is a racist scum bag who deserves the firestorm of criticism he's getting. That said, his girlfriend set him up and based on the fact that she's a model hot woman dating a rich dude old enough to be her grandpa, I think she did for a personal payday, not out of any altruistic desire to reveal what a scumbag Sterling is. She's a gold digger who will casually betray personal confidences and trust just to make a buck. She's just as despicable a person as Sterling. They deserve each other.

Should Donald Sterling's (ex?)-girlfriend be free from criticism? Is she blameless in the whole Donald Sterling "Don't subject me to black people*" rant?

This thread is not about Donald Sterling. Sterling's comments/attitude are reprehensible, no argument, but there are other already-existing threads for that. This thread is about V. Stiviano, the girlfriend.

What's her motivation? Is she doing this solely out of a sense of justice? Or, is she doing this with the long-range goal of a nice payday? What about her being his girlfriend to begin with? Does this possibly suggest a deeper less noble motive? We've seen the pics of him and her. His motivation for being with her is obvious... she's hot. What's her motivation for being with him? Some will defend her with weak defenses or try to feign objectivity by saying "We don't know", but my gut tells me she was attracted to him for one reason... money. For this reason, I suspect her motives. I have nothing to go by but gut feeling, but I suspect that the only reason she ever even said hello to him in the first place was the fact that he's rich... and now she's scheming to get what she can while she can.

Note: Does this question suggest to minimize Sterling's comments and attitude? No, it does not. Attempts to portray it as such will be flat out wrong. Just delving deeper into the situation for curiosity purposes.

*- paraphrasing

You can tell her motivation is greed and she hoped to have something to possibly bail her out of trouble. Its clear that her intent was blackmail. No one makes recordings like that unless they intend to use them for some sort of gain.
