I agree... I watched every single day of that trial and the evidence overwhelmingly supported that version of events.

Just so there's no confusion from anyone on the left, I supported the jury's verdict based on the evidence and the testimony that was presented at trial. That support had absolutely nothing to do with politics at all, and did not equate to a personal support for the man. A person who defends himself is not a hero, he's a surviver... and in his case, a damned lucky one.

It doesn't matter if you go off evidence. Evidence is that thing that gets in the way of the left when they want to cram BS down our throats.

Maybe I should start a poll and mirror it after this one...

What do you think?

You should do it, because of how the LW MSM portrayed them as heroic.

:screwy

He killed an unarmed kid. That aint spin.
Zimmerman was involved in a lawful self defense shooting. And no matter which way you spin it...he was cleared. I guess the left gets OJ and we "have" Zimmerman.

So if someone is unarmed they are not a threat? It is an impossibility? Are you sure? Maybe you didn't pay attention in the trial and were more concerned with political bias?

I could understand that, given the left wing media and politicians tried to make this about racism, stand your ground law (which wasn't used), and guns. And when that didn't stick they resorted to petty claims about him being unarmed...despite being more than capable with his fists.

Z (and all of us who carry) has the responsibility not to kill anyone every time he carries his firearm, unless you have no way to avoid it, and yes, that might require active avoidance. Z had no reason to put himself in a position he would have to kill someone that night. But I am not arguing the case again. Z is amazingly lucky to be out on the streets.

I don't see any heroes or policy makers here. Typical left wing tactic. Hold up an irrelevant character and preach that he is the leader of the opposing group...not letting facts stand In the way (see Michael moore).

You liberals are so tolerant...until someone disagrees lol.

We don't make hundreds of threads on irrelevant characters. RW super heroes on the other hand...

Does he? Is this news? Has he killed someone else? No? Oh.

unless you have no way to avoid it, and yes, that might require active avoidance.

So regardless of where you are...you should just run away? Even in your home? "Active avoidance" is a great catch phrase. Maybe if some crack heads bust into my home and I smoke them a jury can convict me of not actively avoiding them?

You aren't Sherlock or Bourne or any of those Hollywood heroes that has that ability to see everything and predict the result. Neither am I and clearly neither was Zimmerman. You may not see the obvious because your heart is up and you make a bad call. It happens to everyone including seasoned pros.

Z had no reason to put himself in a position he would have to kill someone that night.

Not a crime and stupid isn't something you can give a prison sentence for. Get over it.

But I am not arguing the case again.

Good idea. The right call was made. Doesn't matter who you vote for...the evidence spoke for it self.

Z is amazingly lucky to be out on the streets.

Yea he was real lucky the media slandered his name, getting death threats, having to deal with the psychological impact of killing a kid, and having to worry about getting life in prison (or death this is florida after all) for defending himself.

Yea. He actually is lucky the ridiculous left wing media wasn't able to control the story IN the court room or else he would have been a card carrying hood wearing klan member who loved to shoot "darkies and foreigners" which of course would be his words...not a "reputable" station like nbc editing call information to make it sound like he was that hood wearing racist. Oh wait...they did do that.

You can crack ok right wing Heroes, but all we gotta do is point to your news networks.

:eye roll:

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt friend.

Hope you dont carry a gun. I never said always run away. He killed an unarmed kid and, by his own admission made the decision to put himself in a postition that made that to happen. He just did, and got damn lucky he aint in jail.
Does he? Is this news? Has he killed someone else? No? Oh.

I carry every single day. And I will do so for the rest of my life.

I never said always run away.

No but you seemed to like the idea of "active avoidance," which I pointed out was a great plan until it is legislated and you have to defend yourself in a court room with it.

He killed an unarmed kid and,

Did he just walk up and shoot that kid? Why did the "kid" get shot? If some unarmed punk knocked your ass down and started beating on you...what is your response?

by his own admission made the decision to put himself in a postition that made that to happen.

Yep. He made 1 bad decision. He deserves life in prison for that right? Even though the other party involved ALSO made a bad decision right? Trayvon clearly was just an innocent sweet little kid with no record, and never would have acted like a thug right?

He just did, and got damn lucky he aint in jail.

Yep. So lucky the media didn't control the court room. You are right. If the left and the media had their way he would be hanging from a noose right now as an example of why you should always submit. Hell...that is why they targeted stand your ground.

I would make every attempt not to put myself in a position that the punk, (demonized by the right by the way, was the kid ever arrested for anything?) I would have kept my ass in my SUV until the LEOs arrived. I don't believe we are given one bad decision, if you believe that I hope you don't carry in Indiana. Martin is dead, Z is still a superhero.
I carry every single day. And I will do so for the rest of my life.

Yeah it is mak2, and you already know that.
Treyvon was using his body as a weapon, to harm Zimmerman. That is not being unarmed.

That is some ridiculous bs.
Trayvon approached him and attacked.
That is not Zimmerman putting himself in any such position.

I will not go through this all again, but an adult was armed and killed an unarmed minor, and act that by Z's own account he could have avoided. You are right, he was not convicted.

I went to the link.

A lot of right wingers who started out thinking that Bundy was a great guy have a different opinion now.

Figures. Just more bs.
At the age of 17, he was a young adult. Old enough to be emancipated and join the military and be charged and tried as an adult for his crimes had he lived.
Using your body as a weapon is not being unarmed.
All you have is spin.

Zimmerman did nothing wrong that needed avoiding.
Zimmerman did nothing to cause Treyvon to approach and attack him. Nothing.
So no, it isn't something that he could of avoided, as that all lies in Trayvon's choices.
Trayvon is the one who should have avoided his choice to attack.

you are now my favorite RW hero

It never ceases to amaze me how often you guys drag a dead teenager's corpse out for ritual flogging.

I missed it, what was Martin convicted of?

He should have been convicted of all the thieves tools he had and the jewelry that he was found in possession of.

but hey getting kicked out of school for it and his parents sending him away to his aunts got him into the situation.

right ? or no?
