Have you heard of Nathan Trapuzzano?

Why should I? Unfortunately people are killed every day. It was in my area, so again, why should I?

You heard of Trayvon, though didn't you? That's wasn't in your area either.

Yeah, guy was killed by some punk. That's about it.

So they stick to the one's they can sensationalize.

They do, and there's nothing to sensationalize here. You only think it should be covered because of your RW butt-hurt about Zimmerman.

There was nothing more to sensationalize about the Trayvon case either, except that the race hustlers made it a race issue.

They're not entirely different situations, they are somewhat different....as any two situations usually are. The only real reason that it hasn't made national news is that it was a white guy killed by a black guy. Had the only difference in this situation been the skin color of those involved...it would have been national news, and you wouldn't have had to google him. The race hustlers would have made sure you heard about it.

Of course, that's nonsense. If we're comparing it to Trayvon/Zimmerman, the main national outcry wasn't that Zimmerman shot Martin in the first place, it was that Zimmerman shot Martin and the cops weren't going to do anything about it.

No, everyone's not out to get white people, it's just that when they're killed, no-one cares.

Yep, nobody cares, which is why the alleged shooter is still free able to shoot more white people.

Oh wait, he's not. The cops found him and threw his ass in jail. The system worked as intended.

Because the cops believed it was self defense....apparently the jury did too.

The cops didn't have to go looking for Zimmerman, yet he went to jail too.

I suppose now every time a white person is killed by a black person, regardless of motive or intent, we're going to get some thread whining that it's not getting the national attention that Zimmerman/Martin got, even though Zimmerman/Martin got that kind of attention because the circumstances surrounding the incident were completely different than the circumstances surrounding this one.

Which has what to do with what?

This idea that "nobody cares if it's a white person who dies" is ludicrous.

The reason this isn't a story is because it's a run-of-the-mill robbery/homicide. This kind of thing happens, quite literally, every day.

That you implying that the "effort" put into it has some impact...doesn't.

and yet the self defense case was sensationalized. Why?

and yet the self defense case was sensationalized. Why?

Because it's pretty difficult to make a plausible self-defense argument when the person you blow away is unarmed, and you were following said person?

It was "sensationalized" because the facts of the case were much more unique and rare than the facts of this case. I do not understand why it's so difficult for you to comprehend that.

The cops judged that on scene and found self defense credible, so did the jury later, despite the then national attention.

I see, it was sensationalized for every reason other than the race of those involved.

I see this thread is nothing more than Aggrieved White Male Victimhood Syndrome. OK, exiting stage left now.

No, it's a critique on the national media, and the race hustlers...and the lemmings that eat it up.

Yes, the circumstances here were very different. The guy who shot Trapuzzano was caught on camera laughing. He's been in trouble with the law since he was 9 years old. He has an extensive rap sheet. He's been in the juvenile justice system for 7 years. He's 16 years old. His victim was a devout Catholic, hardworking man with a wife and a baby on the way.

A black teenage thug shot a good decent deeply religious man. That kind of story isn't interesting to the media.

Zimmerman was a Hispanic guy that the media was detemined to paint as a white man. Trayvon Martin was a teenage punk. Neither one of them was worthy of the national recognition their story got.

And so far, Obama hasn't claimed any resemblance to the man who lost his life that morning.

Oh for crying out loud. You think THAT'S why the story isn't getting much national traction?

A scumbag committed a cowardly act and was quickly apprehended. Just like happens routinely in this country. There's nothing to sensationalize.

And AGAIN, the reason Zimmerman/Martin blew up was because it appeared Zimmerman was going to get off scot-free.

The outrage here is simply because the victim in this case was white, and there's a cottage industry here that produces little more than faux outrage over perceived slighting of the white man, while simultaneously and without irony accusing those who don't share the same outrage over the lack of national media attention of "race hustling."

What happened to Trapuzzano was terrible, and the person who did it is human garbage. That said, it's not a national story. Zimmerman-Martin shouldn't have been either.

That's exactly why the story isn't getting attention. It lacks Al Sharpton and Barack Obama.

Obama didn't interject himself into the situation because the cops didn't arrest Martin until the Republican governor of Florida got a special prosecutor. He interjected himself by identifying with Martin's race.

And that story had already blown up before Obama ever said a word.

He "injected himself" into the story because he could relate to being racially profiled, as it appeared Martin had been (and I still think he was; I very strongly doubt Zimmerman would have followed a white guy).

The right-wing furor over this long-resolved case astounds me.

Will Obama make public comments on this guy's death? I doubt it.

Obama was racially profiled? Interesting. Is that why he wasn't able to get into a good college, get into a good law school, get good jobs, get elected to public office, get elected to the most powerful position in the world?

The jury said otherwise. It sounds like you have a problem with the jurors.

Not at all. The lack of evidence to the contrary, the verdict was probably the only one that could have been reached.

But he would have to be guilty for this to be in any way comparable. Don't let the simple fact that this is in no way comparable to Z/M stop you guys from playing the victim card though.
