Have you heard of Nathan Trapuzzano?

No, but then you likely don't know the names of the other tens of thousands of robbery/murder victims. Obviously not all violent crime stories make the national news.

Especially the ones that Obama doesn't claim some sort of visual kinship to.

He is in jail. Has been for 6 days.

He was arrested. Zimmerman wasn't arrested until after the Republican governor of Florida convened a special prosecutor to investigate the case. The police didn't arrest GZ because he had blood all over his head and claimed self defense.

You ever hear of giving people enough rope to hang themselves with? Thanks for ruining that for me...

Ah, you thought you were leading me. Cute, Red, cute.

Let's just put out what you really WANT to be the reason, but can't say it, so we're playing typical "beat around the bush" BS games. It's because he's white, and everybody's out to get white people.

They're not entirely different situations, they are somewhat different....as any two situations usually are. The only real reason that it hasn't made national news is that it was a white guy killed by a black guy. Had the only difference in this situation been the skin color of those involved...it would have been national news, and you wouldn't have had to google him. The race hustlers would have made sure you heard about it.

I can't say what?

So by saying they're not "entirely different" you acknowledge that Zim is guilty of murder?

See, here's the difference - Trayvon Martin died because Zim was playing cop. Zimmerman did not rob Martin, and I may point out that Martin was not robbing Zim either. The difference also was that Zim claimed self-defense right away, and it took months for the cops to ask any questions. The perp in this case has already been arrested, so there's no need to demand his arrest. The differences are so many and so clear, but you diluted it right down to race baiting.

If you want to say that Zim killed Martin while trying to rob him, then it's a similar situation. This is not a controversial situation that brings bigger issues and laws into focus. There's no inkling of anything like "stand your ground" or self-defense as a concept in general. But no, that couldn't be it, it's all because of race. You're just acting like a white Al Sharpton now.

I'm no fan of Zimmerman, I think he instigated the whole situation. But no, he's not guilty of murder. One must be convicted for that. Would you like me explain the US legal system?

It's a similar situation because there was a victim walking down the street doing nothing wrong. That simple. It's not controversial because hustling it doesn't keep anyone relevant.

I can't speak for the OP but I don't see this story getting national attention the way Trayvon Martin's did. I don't see any attempt to make it seem conservatives are good and holy. Where did you get that?

That's the only card the OP can play.

Z/M got national attention because of the controversies about gun laws, SYG laws, castle doctrine, and if the basic concept of self-defense applies when you put yourself in harm's way. This case doesn't. It doesn't warrant the attention, because what are we going to debate? Was the guy right to try rob Trapuzzano? Was he acting in self-defense when he killed him? The answer to both questions is no. He was clearly involved in illegal activity, and was arrested for said illegal activity. Where's the controversy? But no, it gets boiled down to race and how white people are so persecuted, which is obviously crap unless you are looking at it through the red kool-aid.

No, it got national attention because a seemingly white guy killed a black teenager. That simple. There have been plenty of other killings for all the reasons you stated that did not get anywhere near the attention the Trayvon case received.

When a black teenager kills a white guy, it's a blip on the national attention span...if even that. That alone should tell you something.

It's not controversial because there's no bigger issues. Nobody is advocating that robbing and murdering someone should be legal. Nobody is claiming self-defense, and no states have passed laws that could in any way whatsoever excuse what happened.

Oh, now we're going to play the "Zimmerman isn't really white" game. Only a liberal would notice that of course...

I don't think it was necessarily the race of the shooter/victim that makes this one not national news compared to Z/M. I think it's because in that case there was a huge difference of opinion in the country on whether Zimmerman was guilty or not, whereas in this case no one believes the shooter isn't guilty.

No.

Reading through the posts, it would seem he was a white guy murdered by black guy. Why would we know his name any more than the other white guys/gals murdered by black guy/girls?

Do you know who he is?

Forgot to add the poll....just answer yes or no in comments, please.

The point I think the OP is making is race drove the Trayvon case, with race baiters and claims of hate crimes and racism whipping up the story to national heights where that's all everyone heard and talked about for months. Nathan Trapuzzano was white, his alleged killer, black. No story there. No outrage for Nathan, no national discussion on race, just another tragedy left to obscurity except for those directly involved.

It's sad. What's worse, the kid who did it... seems happy about it.

lol, what's a bigger issue than killing someone?

Wow, dude.

I didn't say he "wasn't really white". He's no more white than the President, or I am, though. Of course, it would take a liberal to ignore that.
