Would you vote for Jeb Bush?

Would vote for Jeb Bush

OMG. The Bush's have kids, grandkids, etc. I don't want them running for office when I am 70. That is scary.

While I do appreciate his stance on illegal immigration, I would, under no circumstances, vote for him for anything. I've had enough Bush to last 10 lifetimes. Plus, I remember the side he fell on during the Schiavo debacle, and that left a horrible taste in my mouth.

Besides, if I vote for Bush, I wouldn't have a vote left for Hillary!

I would prefer Ron Paul winning the primary. I think some of his opinions and stances are a little out there, but he is the best in running the neocons out and deconsolidating the power of the government and federal reserve. His son is a little too close to the Evangelica wing for me.

Ron Paul is a freaking loon with a foreign policy stance worse than Obama's but I'd still vote for him before I voted for Bush.

I voted for Jeb Bush 3 times when he ran for Governor of Florida. His first campaign he lost to Lawton "Cracker" Chiles in a close race. The next two he won. He is the first Republican to serve two four-year terms as Governor of Florida.

His wife Columba is Mexican and he has a different approach to immigration than most Republicans. He is non-Hispanic and completely fluent in Spanish. He can swing independents because he's likeable and has a great record as Governor. If he can win twice in Florida as a Republican Governor I think he can win the presidency.

I would vote for him again in a heart beat.

If the other choice is the hildabeast, I'd vote for a dead aardvark over her

He is kind of a nut, but if I were to vote for a nut, it would be him. I wouldn't vote for a nut like Cruz.

What kind of foreign policy do you want? An interventionist?

Some Republicans are conceding on immigration issues to curry favor with Hispanics. They are actively trying to convince their party to adopt this position. They will probably be forced to if they want to have any chance to win.

This is a classic example how illegal immigration, or more precisely, Mexicans illegally crossing our borders enmasse with no intention of ever leaving, have forced a platform change of a major American political party. An illegal invasion of Mexicans has usurped the GOP.

While I hope he's not the nominee and his last name would drive too much negativity into the campaign, he's a decent man and highly respected for the job he did as governor of Florida. I say that as a Floridian. He is the best the Bush family has to offer. He's be head and shoulders over Obama but he wouldn't make the bold changes to the country that it needs.

No. Not interventionist but proactive and prepared. This really isn't the thread to get into all that but having a military that is actively engaged with our allies and pre-positioned should an issue arise is a HUGE part of being properly prepared to defend our interests.

you'd vote for HIllary over him

or would you vote third party and take the risk hillary would be president

I'd vote third party if I can and Oklahoma hasn't had a majority for a Democrat for President since 1964.

fair enough. I vote libertarian when the outcome is obvious, and GOP if its close

no, no and no

not to mention he will never be president anyway

Never say never. If it comes down to him and Hillary its a no brainer

I cannot vote hence my "other" and my other is:

Please America, not another Bush of the same generation as George W. Bush. While there are worse candidates by far in the Republican party it must be possible to find someone other than yet another Bush.

what would be the impact on such a major ally such as Holland if Bush were to win? would tulip production suffer or would the speed skaters fail to win gold in 2018?

I'm old enough to not be afraid of any of them now, even Rand Paul.
IMO, no matter when Clinton would have run in the general--including 2008--she would have and will lose.
The GOP has been gunning for her for over two decades .

Its more like the Democrats have been gunning for her for two decades. Remember the 2008 Democratic primary? Hillary would be a shoo-in if the Presidency was an appointed position.

No, we would still win a boat load of olympic gold medals. I will soon remove the number of medals as soon as my club Ajax wins it's 4th straight soccer title (33rd in their history).

The impact is unknown, usually we work with whomever is in the White House to the best of our abilities.

:agree: Unfortunately for her, Obama came along at that point, and the Party big-wigs supported him. Remember how angry the female PUMA...Party Unity My Ass" were? I sure do!

I would vote for Jeb Bush over a Democrat in a heart beat. He's not my candidate and I'm not going to support him....unless it comes do to him in the very end. Which I hope it does not. There are far better candidates. Although it does kind of look like the GOP is gearing up to favor him after Christie fell through the bridge....either way Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are far better.

Don't bet on it. Don't automatically assume that he would win over Hillary. A lot of people are still pissed over 43.

I never underestimate the stupidity of the average voter in America:mrgreen:

I merely said it would be a no brainer who is better and that is Jeb

Wouldn't vote for him at all.

I'm totally done with milquetoast "compassionate conservative" Republicans. I want a smaller government with MUCH less consolidated power and Bush isn't going to provide that. Neither is Christie or Ryan.

As far as I'm concerned the Federal government is totally out of control and has become more a hindrance to this nation than a help. We need to pass more power back to the states and the people of the states. To that end the most important elections are the state and local elections as well as the elections for congress.

You said it brother. Dittos.:agree

A lot are very disappointed in Obama, too, as his approval rating indicates. The Independents are the voters to watch in 2016, since they will probably decide the outcome. We had eight years of both Clinton and Bush 43, so who knows?

Greetings, Superfly. :2wave:
