Yes, No or I don't know. Very simple. State why for the first too.

Fox claiming it is Fair & Balanced is like saying Poop is tasty and should be a flower.

JMO. :)

Peace

I don't know...never watched it...don't ever intend to.

Yes, FOX news is biased and one would think this would be common knowledge considering the fact that a deluge of FOX's internal memos reveal that it's primary goal is to damage the Democratic party. In fact, the one crusade shared by nearly every host is to smear Hillary Clinton and lambast both her and Bill with personal insults. The views expressed on FOX by the majority of it's pundits, hosts, and anchors are overwhelmingly right wing but, to be "fair and balanced", every major media outlet has painfully obvious political leanings and loyalties though many of them won't admit it. Take the New York Times for example: It consistantly denied that it is dedicated to the cause of the left wing until an internal memo popped out of the woodwork and revealed that the paper had a deeply rooted liberal bias.

I think the better question is "Is FOX news?"

The Fox admixture of news with opinion peddling negates it as far as being a news outlet as far as I'm concerned. It does not meet basic standards for journalistic integrity required to call it News.

It's really a hybrid of news and commentary, with the news chosen to support the commentary.

Fox is payed by the extreme right of the US. Its a puppet of the current government for example. Rupert Murdoch is the slave of George Bush and his cabinet, he got a knife to his throat. Yes, Fox News is biased. Even the "liberal" in Hannister and Colmes is extreme right wing, but pretending in the scripts of fox news that he is liberal and democrat.

Anyone here like the TV series "24"? Now that might just be the reality explained but not 100% like it is, you still have to draw some of your own conclutions.

Every time there is a news story about Obama (whether real or fabricated), FOX always prints his name on the news feed as "Barack Hussein Obama." In addition, they regularly refer to "homicide bombings" in Israel, and "Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez" as though there was no controversy whatsoever about those labels. Whether or not you agree that they're accurate labels, they were obviously chosen to push a specific political agenda.

While it's true that many news sources have biases, most of them don't intentionally distort the news to fit those biases. You don't ever see the Wall Street Journal trying to smear Democrats, or the New York Times trying to smear Republicans. CNN and MSNBC almost always include a conservative perspective in their news analysis...FOX only has one liberal, and he's just a foil for Sean Hannity.

With that said, FOX is still much more accurate than some of the crap you can read online.

Not anymore than MSNBC or CNN infact the only show that is decisively biased is Hannity and Colmes however, that show is supposed to be biased and it's biased towards both sides of the spectrum. Now alot of you'll say that O'reilly is biased well compare him to that left wing shill Keith Olberman it's no comparison as to who is more biased. Then there's the UCLA study that found Fox to be centrist. What's really sad here is that the left has two of the three 24 hour news networks, all of public broadcasting, and all three of the big networks IE ABC CBS and NBC and yet they still complain about Fox News, it's Fox News that that is called a propaganda machine while these leftist nutbags don't realize how indoctrinated they are because they complain about the one station and then ignore the littany of propaganda they are fed from the NYT's to the PBS.

or the New York Times trying to smear Republicans.

You're ****ing kidding me right?

CNN and MSNBC almost always include a conservative perspective in their news analysis...

Ya Keith Olberman always gets balanced out. You call Colmes a foil but the only Republicans on MSNBC are ****ing RINO's IE Scarborough and Carlson sh!t Scarborough came out for support of Al Gore on Bill Maher two weeks ago.

BBC of the UK is not biased. Its independant and touches both side, but seem very balanced in the center.
Most European TV nexs channels are not biased, of course with the exception of Italian tv which is owned by Mr Berlusconi. Yet the Italian people elected Roman Prodi, which shows there is hope even in a media controlled country.

Most news in the US are ultra rightist conservative, while a few that people in the US would call leftist in most definition are centrist. I dont know a single leftists newsmedium in the US.. NY times certainly isnt leftist, its centrists. But I guess rightist, centrist and leftists is defined by where you live. Almost everyone in the US if they lived in Europe would be far right or right-center or at best centrists. The democratic party would be defined "center-right" in most European countries.
In the world, Europe is centrist and liberal, America (extreme) rightist and mostly liberal, Russia is leftist and conservative but becoming liberal, middle east is leftist and extreme conservative, China is leftist liberal, Japan is center liberal, most the rest of Asia is liberal center-left, Thailand is now conservative centrists.

So whereever you go the opinions will be different, in Russia for example, they would define most countries are extreme rightists liberals.
But again, I would be branded far right and ultra liberal by most people in Asia.

So I guess you can split the world in 3-5 parts. Or dusins. But in the world the US is extreme rightists almost by any standard.

Difficult to explain really, but the "leftist" in the US is "rightist" almost everywhere else, while the right in Europe is "extreme right" almost everywhere else except the US where its "rightist", while the centrist Europeans are leftist to the US and rightist almost in every other definition. The left in Europe then is extremely left to the US while centrist most elsewhere.

Thats it, I hope you understand what I mean.

oh, how I would love to have a true debate or a private debate with you, TOT! you be wrong 'bout everythang. pick a topic...

1. is Fox more biased than MSNBC or CNN?
2. is the only decisively biased show on Fox Hannity and Colmes?
3. are Hannity and Colmes biased towards both sides of the spectrum?
4. does a comparison of two shows (O'Reilly and Olbermann) have anything to do with a single network's overall bias?
5. are the findings of the UCLA study (that found Fox to be centrist) sound?
6. does "the left" actually "have" two of the three 24 hour news networks, all of public broadcasting, and all three of the big networks IE ABC CBS and NBC?
7. who is more biased? Fox or (insert name of any other media entity here)?
8. or just say the word and you can stand in for Cold Dirt in the private debate I've already set up.

LOL... :thanks :rofl :2rofll: :2funny:

You really are extreme rightist conservative.. EXTREME.

oh, how I would love to have a true debate or a private debate with you, TOT! you be wrong 'bout everythang. pick a topic...

1. is Fox more biased than MSNBC or CNN?
* Certainly sir, not fox, but fox news.
2. is the only decisively biased show on Fox Hannity and Colmes?
*absolutely every show on fox is a rightist conservative parade.
3. are Hannity and Colmes biased towards both sides of the spectrum?
*no, just to the right side, colmes is just a scripting man, he isnt a democrat, he voted for Bush.
4. does a comparison of two shows (O'Reilly and Olbermann) have anything to do with a single network's overall bias?
*no sir, you have to watch the whole specter, with fox news this is very one sided, definetely not balanced as they say, not fair since its propaganda like.
5. are the findings of the UCLA study (that found Fox to be centrist) sound?
*no, this is just propaganda, fox must have paid them off, or the people who studied it must have been from the extreme right like TOT.
6. does "the left" actually "have" two of the three 24 hour news networks, all of public broadcasting, and all three of the big networks IE ABC CBS and NBC?
*in Europe, most American newschannels would be branded rightist or center-right.
7. who is more biased? Fox or (insert name of any other media entity here)?
*FOX News!!!!!!!!
8. or just say the word and you can stand in for Cold Dirt in the private debate I've already set up.
I would like to see you have a go a TOT in a private debate, he is the ultimate righ****t conservative.

BBC of the UK is not biased. Its independant and touches both side, but seem very balanced in the center.

BBC not biased? Are you ****ing joking?

Most news in the US are ultra rightist conservative, while a few that people in the US would call leftist in most definition are centrist.

This is the crazist **** I've ever heard, do you consider anything to the right of the daily worker to be ultra rightist conservative?

Ya Keith Olberman always gets balanced out.

Olbermann isn't supposed to be balanced, just like Bill O'Reilly isn't supposed to be balanced. Those are opinion shows, and that's fine. The problem is that FOX News' political agenda regularly goes beyond the opinion shows into its news coverage. I gave a couple examples above.

Scarborough and Carlson both have their own shows to say whatever they think. They aren't weak debaters being paired up against some assertive liberal. And let's not forget Bob Novak, who was on CNN for years until his bizarre outburst last year. Is he a RINO too?

There are other conservatives that regularly appear on those networks. Pat Buchanan is on MSNBC almost every day.

It's completely possible for a news source to have a conservative bias without pushing GOP propaganda. The Wall Street Journal is an excellent example of this.

Have you checked the ratings lately?

oh, how I would love to have a true debate or a private debate with you, TOT! you be wrong 'bout everythang. pick a topic...

1. is Fox more biased than MSNBC or CNN?
* Certainly sir, not fox, but fox news.

Ya umm watch Keith Olberman sometime.

2. is the only decisively biased show on Fox Hannity and Colmes?
*absolutely every show on fox is a rightist conservative parade.

Tell that to UCLA who found it to be one of the only centrist news outlets.

3. are Hannity and Colmes biased towards both sides of the spectrum?
*no, just to the right side, colmes is just a scripting man, he isnt a democrat, he voted for Bush.

Really I'm sure you have some evidence of that right? Oh that's right you're full of ****ing **** and think you are above proving your accusations.

4. does a comparison of two shows (O'Reilly and Olbermann) have anything to do with a single network's overall bias?
*no sir, you have to watch the whole specter, with fox news this is very one sided, definetely not balanced as they say, not fair since its propaganda like.

How is it propaganda like?

5. are the findings of the UCLA study (that found Fox to be centrist) sound?
*no, this is just propaganda, fox must have paid them off, or the people who studied it must have been from the extreme right like TOT.

Again another unsubstantiated lie, the study was conducted in a scientific manner and was not funded by any outside body.

6. does "the left" actually "have" two of the three 24 hour news networks, all of public broadcasting, and all three of the big networks IE ABC CBS and NBC?
*in Europe, most American newschannels would be branded rightist or center-right.

Well apparently in Europe anything to the right of the daily worker is considered right wing.

7. who is more biased? Fox or (insert name of any other media entity here)?
*FOX News!!!!!!!!

Again not according to scientific analysis.
8. or just say the word and you can stand in for Cold Dirt in the private debate I've already set up.

Any topic anytime.

Chavez is a dictator, they are homicide bombers, and his middle name is Hussein are you asserting that facts lean to the right now? And I would say that any station that refers to them as suicide bombers or Chavez as a legitimate ruler leans to the left.

Scarborough and Carlson both have their own shows to say whatever they think. They aren't weak debaters being paired up against some assertive liberal.

Are you asserting that Hannity is a better debater than Colmes? You're joking right?

And let's not forget Bob Novak, who was on CNN for years until his bizarre outburst last year. Is he a RINO too?

How many former Clinton cabinet members are on the payrolls of CNN and MSNBC? His outburst wasn't bizarre infact it was another example of how biased CNN is, why do you think he got pissed?

There are other conservatives that regularly appear on those networks. Pat Buchanan is on MSNBC almost every day.

Buchanan's a paleo-con.

In a survey conducted by the American Society of Newspaper Editors in 1997, 61% of reporters stated that they were members of or shared the beliefs of the Democratic. Only 15% say their beliefs were best represented by the Republican. A survey by the PEW research center and Project for Excellence in Journalism in 2004 found 34% of journalists describing themselves as liberal, 54% as moderate, and 7% as conservative.

I love it when right wingers respond to charges about the content of news coverage, with examples that have nothing to do with the content of news coverage.

in order to reach a conclusion about the overall content of news coverage, one *ought to* point to empirical evidence that examines overall content of news coverage.

We already debated that one but sure thing maybe this time you can use some of your own thoughts rather than a copy paste job like the last debate we had.

Yes yes, the fact that majority of reporters are liberals has nothing to do with how they report the news.

We've done that you just dismiss the scientific analysis.
