what makes you think I do? I am on record multiple times saying that many parents are pieces of ****

where did I say that it was?

know 'em? I f***ed 'em! :lamo

Oh really? And how old were you, keeping in mind I said "older guys" meaning older than 23 years old.

Re: Do you think fathers have a legal right to see thier child born or be in the room

Well, there's plenty of people who want to give stupid people a pass. It's historically been recognized that a young dick is blind, but we used to think that girls had enough good sense to make up for their male counterparts' wrecklessness, but nowadays, it's an equal opportunity stupidity-controlled world that we live in. It is a good thing that I don't control the destiny of makind. I would be inclined to scrap it and start over. ;)

agree 100%. one of the main reasons I never studied bio-chemistry or medicine. I was afraid I might learn how to create a substance that would kill 90% of the population, and use it.

I plead the 5th ;)

but seriously, when I was a teenager (17-19) I knew plenty of 15-16 year old girls who dated scuzzy older creepers. and, yes, I had sex with many of them.

I don't see how you can say that about teenage girls. They have ALWAYS gotten pregnant, it was just hidden in the past. Yes lizzie, women have sex drives too AND they get horny. That doesn't mean they are "stupid" either.

Amen, sista.

Giving anyone the benefit of the doubt these days, regardless of gender, is a fool's proposition.

Honestly, I blame men. This snowball has been growing into a boulder for decades, and no real movement existed to stop it. We created Frankenstein's monster, and now it runs amok, unchecked. It's just hard for me to take an "ah well" stance.

Nope, this subject has nothing to do with "rights."

Of course not. It was about a guy. Guys don't have rights.

That's a female-exclusive thing.

It has nothing to do with rights because no one has the right to be in the operating room while a person is undergoing a procedure, ANY procedure. If a person invites you in, then you have the privilege of being "special" to that person. If not, then that's that. End of story. This woman did not say the man couldn't come hold and bond with the baby. If she had done that, I would agree 100% that she is wrong. She is NOT keeping him from the baby. She is trying to keep him away from HER.

it was a ****ing joke....

you asked if I knew any. I said that I had sex with them. I never said that I was 23 or older when I did....

Having a sex drive and getting horny is not stupid. The inability to either control it, protect yourself from pregnancy (and disease), or masturbate in lieu of unprotected sex IS stupid. Anyone who is a slave to their sexuality is lacking in intelligence to one degree or another. I have a healthy sex drive, but I'm not stupid enough to act on it, and regret it later. I'm not expecting women to be Einsteins. I'm expecting them to use reasonable judgement with regard to their own bodies.

This is SUCH old-fashioned outdated thinking. Intelligence and good decision-making has NOTHING to do with gender.

BOTH sexes need to do this. BOTH are guilty of making bad and good decisions. This has NOTHING to do with gender but are traits of an INDIVIDUAL.

What do you expect? I am old-fashioned. I was smart as a young woman. When I decided to become sexually active, I understood that doing so would put me at risk. I picked up the phone, called a PP office, made an appointment, went and had a gyn exam, got my little pack of BC pills, and went on my merry way. I took my little BC pill every morning, just like a person with a marginal IQ is capable of, and what-do-you-know, I didn't get pregnant. I took the responsibility for my own body, and my own well-being, upon myself. I did not expect a 17 year-old boy to be responsible for my body. If responsibility for self is old-fashioned, we could sure as hell use a little more of it these days.

Re: Do you think fathers have a legal right to see thier child born or be in the room

Some parents just don't care. I would think these things are common sense.

So you think that since she is 15 years old, she should have common sense at that age? Most don't, but maybe he didn't know how old she was. Maybe he wants to make sure she makes it through childbirth safely, and that's his reason for wanting to be there. Can 15 year old girls even marry someone legally in this country?

But the GIRLS are the ones who get pregnant. I'm not sure why my stance is so hard to understand. My body= My responsibility.

trouble is, the girls have all the control when it comes to sex. if she doesn't allow it, it doesn't happen unless he rapes her.

and the girls are the ones who decide when and if sex is going to occur (except for rape).

The hell it doesn't . The sooner a woman starts acting responsibly when it comes to sex, where abortions are no longer used as a means of birth control or she keeps popping out kids because she couldn't handle taking her birth control responsibly, because she doesn't seem too interested in making sure her child has a stable environment complete with a father........maybe others would start taking her seriously. As a woman it is embarrassing that my gender have so many "accidents" when it comes to getting pregnant. It saddens me that she thinks so little of herself to freely engage in unprotected sex.

Re: Do you think fathers have a legal right to see thier child born or be in the room

-- Maybe he wants to make sure she makes it through childbirth safely, and that's his reason for wanting to be there--

If you're talking about the court case in question - there are better ways than taking the person through court during pregnancy or even wishing to force his presence on her during childbirth.

Basic science here regarding how hormones and emotions pass on to the child. I'm surprised it's gone to 47 pages without that being regarded.

The same goes for men. Why in the hell would you suggest that sexual responsibility is ONLY a female responsibility? That is ridiculous.

WHAT? You don't have to be married to be pregnant, and the people in the OP are NOT married either.

Re: Do you think fathers have a legal right to see thier child born or be in the room

This is NOT true. There are plenty of times when girls feel pressure to have sex.

Re: Do you think fathers have a legal right to see thier child born or be in the room

Because it is HER body. I don't accept responsibility for a man's body. I do accept responsibility for my own. If I could get pregnant today, I would prevent it, rather than expecting a man to make sure he didn't get me pregnant. I take the responsibility for my own body very seriously. If men could get pregnant, I would expect the same from them, and consider them stupid if they didn't prevent pregnancy.

Re: Do you think fathers have a legal right to see thier child born or be in the room

Actually, intelligence does have something to do with gender. Anyway, women do think different than men, and they do approach situations like this differently. This whole thing that women are the same as men isn't accurate, and when they behave like men when it comes to sex it usually leaves them unhappy. I believe it's true to say that when you act in way that is outside of your nature you will find yourself unhappy. Of course, Aristotle also said that. :D
