I'm still registered as a Republican though I haven't voted that way for a few years...

Lol. My dad donated money to the Repubs every year for 40 years but stopped after the 2012 election because of the way they conducted their primaries.

The way they handled the Ron Paul situation was appalling...

Funny thing is when I go to vote in the primary it's a celebration at the polling station as I am usually the only one the Repub polling judge has seen all day...

The Common Sense Party.

Unfortunately, they almost never field candidates.

I have never joined nor do I belong to, any organized party. I have no party loyalties. I sadly voted for Obama in the 2008 elections, Jill Stein (Green Party) in 2012.

I vote for candidates which best exemplifies my beliefs, regardless of affiliation.

You know what is astonishing? This poll shows that the majority of people are registered Republican. Yet I've been going through these polls for some time and each issue that has an overwhelming response one way, is not the views and stand of the Republican parties. Either one set of folks took this poll and another set are taking all the others, or the Republicans are doing a good job of snow jobbing everyone to stay in support of them.

I change my registration depending on what state I live in. Today I am a registered Republican because I am in NH and want to vote in the Republican primary.

My first registration was 1980 when I turned 18 in NJ. I registered as a Republican and voted for Reagan. Through the years I've registered as all sorts of things. When I lived in Chicago I registered as a Democrat because I was youngish and didn't care for George HW Bush and wanted to send a "message". In other states I was a registered Independent because I wanted to test the waters in the local elections.

You forgot political atheists!!!!

the repuke and the demonic party are the same party everyone knows this.
We have a one party system. If you dont believe it then think about how both the repukes and the demonic party hate the Tea Party. they attack it equally!

None. In my state at least registering to vote opens you up to jury duty. I have no interest to serve on a jury.

Jury duty selections in Wisconsin are made by drivers license.

...or you don't have the first damn clue what Republicans believe.

Yeah. I'll go with that option.

In my state its getting a license that gets you on a jury panel.

I used to live in one those states in my early twenties. I got the hell out of there due to it being a liberal hellhole that taxed everyone to death.

What does registration do? In the UK the parties select the candidates, presumably putting up their best one for a seat. Then voters like me choose the least worst option from what's available.

I may be moving from this fascist state next year.

I live in Idaho. Its been a conservative state since long before I was born. ;)

I couldn't vote.

Ever since the 70's, my voter card says "not affiliated."
