Hillary is clearly the democrats choice, and Paul has the only available nod from the Republican side. Assuming they are the R and D nominees who wins your vote?

Neither, and it isn't a wasted vote, it is the DNC and RNC putting up wasted candidates. So I refuse to take part in your obviously partisan poll by voting your idiotic third choice.

It is far too early to assume either will be their party's nominee.

I vote Rand, despite my illogical need to get the first female president out of the way (yes I voted for Obama because he was black, despite my political opposition)

Out of those two, Clinton. But it's way too early to assume who is going to be nominated, wasn't Herman Cain dominating the polls in late 2011?

Back in 2011 I went on record saying that Obama should be a one termer and Clinton should have been the candidate in 2012. Now the question will be if she waited too long.

Rand Paul symbolizes a disease which would destroy America just as an infection can kill its host. If the GOP picks him in 2016 it will be a repeat of the 64 Goldwater debacle up and down the ticket from coast to coast everywhere except the south and a few western states like Idaho and Wyoming.

Clinton would beat Paul by at least a dozen points in the popular vote.

The GOP is still a two-horse race, in spite of bridgegate.
Christie will slaughter Paul in debates.
And TEAs will split their vote in early primaries.

Nothing has changed.
It's still Mrs. Clinton's if she wants it .

I'd willingly (not enthusiastically, but willingly) pull the lever for Rand Paul.

I'm still not convinced that Hillary will be the democrat nominee. While I think she'd be a popular choice on the left I have a sneaking suspicion that they'll push for Elizabeth Warren.

I definitely believe Hillary is to old and has to much baggage and if he is the nominee he could clean her clock but sadly the GOP will mess it up.

Just like you predicted Romney would clean the clock with Obama :lamo

Paul would be a very poor choice because he stated on the Rachel Maddow show that he was against the Public Accomodations portions of the Civil Rights act of 1964.

I'll take this option here please.

Mornin' Cal. :2wave: Assuming.....like you stated Right off the bat, that it would be out of these two choices.

Then clearly the Obvious choice would be Paul......Someone who understands the Constitution and isn't about waste.

A Paul vs Hillary race could actually entice me to actively get involved in the ground game up here in NOVA.

If you can't guess, I'd be pulling the lever for Paul in such a case.

Hillary vs Paul -- what an exercize in dynastic politics, eh?

I don't really see any difference between Dems and Repubs so a Third Party is the only opportunity to say "NEITHER." How else would you actually change things. The same ol' crap is the same ol' crap, irregardless of Media exaggerations to the contrary. It appears to me that the Dems and Repubs are owned and operated by the CIA, so I vote to eliminate the puppeteer.

Its way too early to know with any certainty who the two nominees will be, but if this was the race, I'd vote for Paul in a heartbeat and volunteer for his campaign.

Neither one will be President, so what are we supposed to be voting for them for?

Good morning NIMBY - I'd suggest you stick to Democrat politics. The GOP race isn't anywhere near a contest between those two candidates. Jeb Bush is the next President of the United States whether or not Hillary sticks her toe (and Bill sticks his dick) in the ring on the Democrat side.

Gee, how many of the six viewers that Rachel Maddow gets nightly would be voting for Rand Paul anyway - and just how many of those six would make their choice on a constitutional debate about civil rights?

You may want to take some of your own advice and stick to Canadian politics. Candidate Cruz was none too statesmanlike towards Presidents Dole, McCain and Romney. Did Jeb get an invite to CPAC? I did notice Christie there. Have fun splitting OUR GOP vote .

LMMFAO Have you ever heard of video recordings, they are a reality these days? The stupid things people say to denigrate Rachel Maddow are quite funny. :lamo

I'm absolutely shocked we agree ;)

Honestly though, I'd be very happy with this. While I don't agree 100% with Paul, IF he managed to win the ticket he'd be the first person in memory on the biggest stage that I could see myself happy with enough to actively WANT to get involved. Huntsman would've caused that for me as well, but alas that abysmal primary stategy had him going no where.

The smears going off against Paul would definitely come in full force, but I think he's seemingly got enough "new blood" in him to embrace some of the changing realities of politics and hopefully get some people on board who know how to message and manage public perception in the 21st century to combat it. If he could leverage some of what worked with his father with the younger people in creating an '08 Obama-esque "socially trendy" feeling to his campaign, I could see him surprising some folks.

I accept that Hillary is the likely Democratic nominee, I don't accept that for Paul. There are plenty of other contenders with ample resources and backing.
