There are rumors Hillary is very sick and won't run. If true this would shake up the next election big time. The democrats don't really have a next in line except her and would be stuck with Biden in which case they lose.

"If you listen to the chattering class in Washington, D.C., Hillary Clinton is a virtual certainty for the 2016 Democratic nomination, and the front-runner in the next presidential race.

But in private, rumors persist that the former Secretary of State may not even be capable of making it to Iowa and New Hampshire. Clinton, these skeptics often say, will not run for president again because of health concerns."

“Already,” Henneberger wrote, “reports that describe Clinton’s right transverse sinus venous thrombosis as potentially life-threatening, though apparently caught in enough time, sound a lot more serious than the word from her doctors that the secretary is ‘making excellent progress and we are confident she will make a full recovery. She is in good spirits, engaging with her doctors, her family and her staff.’”
Henneberger asked then if we would “really be shocked to learn down the road that reports during her hospitalization had put a positive spin on her condition?”
“Our public officials have trained us to take everything they say with a healthy dose of skepticism,” Henneberger continued, “and on a matter as sensitive as a head injury followed by denials of any neurological symptoms, I’m not sure why we would or should unquestioningly accept the word of any politician.”
Some have noted Clinton’s change in appearance, including the addition of thick glasses, since her hospitalization. “One doesn’t need to be a physician… to have seen that Clinton has not appeared exactly bright-eyed and bushy-tailed of late,” Mary Stanik, a former Minnesota health care spokeswoman, wrote in 2013. “She looks to have gained a significant amount of weight since 2008. She seems pale, tired, and yes, aged. She’s said that she would like to know again what it’s like to not be tired.”
Last year, a Clinton aide acknowledged that her health crisis caused her to stop wearing contact lenses.
“She’ll be wearing these glasses instead of her contacts for a period of time because of lingering issues stemming from her concussion,” spokesman Philippe Reines told ABC News in 2013. “With them on, she sees just fine.”

Rumors persist that Hillary won

I don't think the Democrats or Republicans have anybody for 2016 that I could get all warm and fuzzy about.

The tabloids may get a correct article every once in awhile just like a broken clock is correct twice a day. But I scan the tabloids at the checkout line at the store like most people and it seems they are always finding somebody with some disease or marrage problem. Trash sells.

I don't ****ing know, I'm not her ****ing doctor. What's the point of this poll?

She does look a bit old and tired. If I were her, I'd not run. She should retire now and enjoy her golden years without the incredible pressure of being POTUS.

But, then, I wouldn't run for POTUS were I as healthy as I was 50 years ago. Why anyone wants that job is beyond me, unless it is some sort of a power trip.

As for who else the Democrats have to run, that's another good question, at least as good as who the Republicans are going to run now that Christy has shown his true colors.

I'm predicting yet another choice of who is the least bad, rather than who is best. I'm voting Voldemort, as I'm tired of voting for the lesser of the evils.

To speculate on a rumor - or in other words, the purpose of 99% of all threads on DP.

As Stillballin said, I'm not her doctor. That said...

President John F. Kennedy's medical records reveal that he had suffered health problems since childhood, and used an arsenal of drugs, including painkillers and stimulants, to treat various medical conditions during his presidency.

A historian who examined his medical records was stunned at the extent of the health problems that the seemingly vigorous president dealt with.

"There was hardly a day that went by that he didn't suffer terribly," presidential historian Robert Dallek, a history professor at Boston University, told ABCNEWS' Good Morning America.

Kinda dumb to comment on stuff I know absolutely nothing about so I will leave the speculating to others...

Were knowing something about a subject be a requirement to comment on a subject, DP wouldn't exist.

I would imagine a lot of Presidents and candidates had health issues? They're usually not 'spring chickens'. FDR-polio, Reagan-alzheimers, Bush Sr-heart etc.

If she's even halfway refreshed, fit and mentally/emotionally steady, she'll run. I think after her blood clot, her daughter told the Press she was worn down. Probably from all the traveling she did as head of State and flack from Benghazi.

Yes, too sick in the head

Christy's true colors?

The topic is too huge to ignore. If she is sick it will shake up the next election like never before. Never in my life time anyway.

No idiotic rumor is too huge to ignore. Compared to rumors like Bush knew about in advance or conspired to let 9/11 happen, or that Obama is really a Kenyan Muslim, this is tiny. And yet we can safely ignore both those rumors. Facts matter, rumors not so much.

You're just a young punk then.... ;)

I'd say LBJ not running for a second term, or the First TV debate between Nixon and JFK EASILY beats this. :peace

how so; what would be so unique about the 2016 race?

Reagan's Alzheimer's was just a rumor too along with Kennedy and his being hooked on pain meds.

I don't see any mention of health in Article I. I guess that is why the FFs wrote Article II.

A better question might be - if Hillary for any reason does not run, are there any Democrat contenders with serious name recognition who could possibly win?

LBJ not running for a second term pales in comparison. He was widely unpopular and was not the presumptive pres in waiting as Hill is or maybe was. The Nixon debate is not even in the ball park.

I think your memory of those events is fading.

We're still two years from election time. No candidate has even declared as yet, let alone been nominated. Were Hillary to actually be nominated, then drop dead two days before the general election, then that would be big news. Come to think of it, it may be the only scenario in which the Republican Party could actually win the election without shooting itself in the foot in one way or another. Come to think of it, perhaps a Libertarian might win, if the Inepticans once again manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
