Conservativism in the UNITED STATES political spectrum means to be oposed to the Liberal AMARICAN liberal movment. But when you are speaking about INTERNATIONAL politics, almost all amarican both liberal and conservative would be considered CLASSICAL LIBERAL!!! George washington, hamilton, Jefferson, Milton Freedmon, John Stewart Mill.... among many... MANY others were among the CLASSICAL LIBERAL authors and proponents of classical liberalism... please look this up before posting about it again? thanks....

Second, the Autonomous Republic of Crosia was what the local government of Crosia called its self after it... very briefly... declared itself apart from the Ukraine, literally for like... three hours or so, supposedly the former president of the Ukrain wanted the Presidential position until russian advisors stepped in and told him that Crosia could not break away from Ukraine and for him to maintain any kind of legitimacy. So they issued a statement of repeal like half an hour later. it was rather laughable actually. this information could also be the cause of a bad information that the BBC got but no won can confirm anything right now... so i choose to believe that the guy was actually that dumb. hell he was dumb enough to kill his own citizens who protested him in the streets after coming to power in the same manner during the orange revolution.

Oh.. yea i was just meaning that i know that to a lot of foreigners american's use of metaphors can get rather annoying. and sense i used like... five in that paragraph i felt it appropriate to apologize. I was told this by a friend of mine who is from Germany and another from Saudi arabia, so i assumed everyone felt like that. ha ha

Totally agree, but sense they are being bullied and have asked for help, shouldn't someone help them? or should we just let russia have their way with Ukraine like we did Georgia?

We do not know what Russia's next move will be. We will have to see. If Russia takes more direct military action the international community should take action through the UN. I however believe military action will only make things much much more worse. Direct dialogue is needed.

For the umpteenth time I know that America has twisted the meaning of the words. And I know that the founders were liberals, they were idiots. As noted by my username, I'm a paleoconservative, not a neoconservative.

What on Earth are you talking about? The only Crosia I could find any information about is a town in Italy.
 
Someone needs to support the Ukraine and it should be NATO or at least countries like Poland and Latvia.

It was kind of a quib any way... it came from a BBC Report that was removed because it could not be confirmed, but to be honest nothing can be confirmed over there. I just choose to believe that the puppet government of russia, the regional semi-autonomous government in Crosia would be that stupid, it just makes my heart all a flutter when i see that level of constitutional stupidity.

As for what you are talking about with "Palio conservative"....what? Do you mean you are for a MONARCHY? because that is what Classic era conservatives were.... they were monarchists....

Fair enough. i guess i am being a bit of a worry wart about it... i just cant shake the feeling that russia is just biding its time until everyone is looking the other way again, and then it will pounce.

By the way the UN will never intervene.... Russia has veto power in the security council witch is the only binding political body in the entire UN... the EU might though, as might Nato.

I still have no idea what Crosia is.

I would support a medieval style monarchy. Although personally I think that a confessional state with a mixture of democracy and meritocracy would be preferable. I'm much more concerned with the ideology underlying the government than with the specific form of government.

We can support Ukraine in a number of ways with NATO and like-minded Nations.
Problems is, led by Germany, none of them have the stomach to stand up to Putin,
with tons of mixed signals coming from ALL American politicians as well.

For all the screaming warhawks, I would throw up Naval blocades, stop all rail and auto/truck traffic to the EU,
cut off their water, freeze their considerable overseas assets, ground all their airplanes from ALL of North America
and wait and see if their stock market drops another 10% tomorrow.
Oh yeah, and turn off their flow of oil and natural gas to the EU.

Croatia isn't part of the Ukraine. It's a different country.

No its not.... not according to, well... pretty much everyone but russia, including Crosatia until just a few days ago.

for the love of all that is holy.... please... please look up the process of devolution. that is what happened with Ossetia in georgia and what happened with Crosatia.

Yes it is a different country. According to nearly everyone in the world but you, It used to be part of Yugoslavia and it is closer to Italy than it is to the Ukraine.

No i know what you are saying. I was misspelling the name... again... i am kind of on painkillers right now as i just got home from a surgery on my foot, and i naturally have dyslexia anyway... so i am heavily relying upon spell check. it seems to think that Crimea does not exist.

Spring is coming. Natural gas may not be quite as necessary.
I would also argue that Russia needs a buyer for it's products.

Let me mention that I am very pleased with Mr. Cantor's statement today supporting the President.
I just heard it on Lawrence O'Donnell.
As well, my local GOP Rep. Kinzinger has also been supportive of the President .
