This is probably more age sensitive, because our tastes usually change, as we mature.

I started to only have 2 choices but it's a bit more complicated than the stereotypical answer.

Had to go with 'other'. :)

A sweet Prince charming in public and a pirate in the bedroom

Here's the Bad boy...

And here's the nice, sensitive guy....

Dude, I think your version of "bad boy" and my version of "bad boy" are two totally different bad boys.

Neither.

I'm male, and straight, so I would only ever be interested in dating women.

And even at that, I think that Seanette would rightfully have a problem with me dating anyone.

I had to choose the generic versions from a male model list.

My sister's idea of a bad boy, looks like Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd, because she married their cousin. Who btw looks just like them, half hippy and half hillbilly.

That's cool. This is more of my idea of a "bad boy."

And I answered something in between. I don't like to be told yes all the time. I don't want to be married to a fish. On the other hand, I don't want to be married to a bully. I like a little in between.

That's looks more like a gang member...lol

Something in between is what I thought most would choose, because it's more realistic. The ideal person has many flavors and colors, interesting but not complicated.

No, no, neither one would be my ideal of a bad boy.....

Show us your Bad Boy.

And I'll show my bad girl. ;)

Asking women to articulate their preferences rather than to note their actual choices is like asking a boyfriend to apply his girlfriend's make-up.

Change as we mature? I find more that they rotate within a relatively consistent typography.

Gorgeous as he may be, Johnny Depp doesn't shower regularly. Can't imagine anyone being OK with that, regardless of who it is.

Most frequently given answer: I want a good guy.

The truth: I want an asshole.

Wrong. Most women want a little bit of both.

They want the asshole that they can have fun with, and think that they can polish him into a nice guy...eventually.

Likelihood of that happening: Zero.

They still do love to try.

Why do you think I act the way I do? Demand. I used to get the "why can't more guys be like you" BS while she dried her eyes before going back to the dude who beats, cheats, and mistreats. Eventually you get tired of being the emotional dumpster and you want to be the guy getting the action.

There's a whole pick-up artist culture based around negativity toward women and putting their esteem in a defensive position to yield immediate results. It exists because it works. It's a results-oriented mentality.
