Should the Mind Your own Dang Business Party be created?

So this is a comment that came up in my last post, and it said that what we should do is create one more part called the MYODB (Mind.Your.Ow.Dang.Dang. Business) Party. So the idea is that if it doesn't affect you, it is not excessively illegal, and no one is getting hurt by it, then you just mind your own business. Now i like this idea, its sweet, simple, and to the point. What do you guys think?
 
TH is supposed to be the, i just didn't see the mistake until i had posted it.

I have an issue with "is not excessively illegal".

I would prefer something along the lines of "should not be illegal, and we are working to change the law, but we'll follow the law until we do".
 
Sounds like an extension of the libertarian party, but whatever. I guess you could create it, but I don't see it winning any elections in my lifetime.

YEP! great idea. It could merge with the "The Rents Too Damn High Party" and double the membership size.
It certainly seems reasonable and prudent; It could start a movement; Get Arlo Guthrie to compose a 30 minute song for an anthem.

On either side, I might add.

This is the sort of thing that the libertarians should believe in. In practice, they don't.
 
If nominated then I will not run. If elected then I will not serve. MYODB! ;)

I'm not politically speaking an actual libertarian, but I originally brought it up because it is how I actually live my life for the most part.

If it ain't none of my dang business, and it isn't hurting any innocents, I generally don't stick my nose in uninvited.


Yet I will gladly help anyone in need if I can... which definitely makes me a NON-Objectivist. :)

If people ever realized that it is how many, perhaps most of us, lived our personal lives, it might catch on politically.


Do you ever threaten someone with force if they wish to consume more soda than you think is healthy for them? No.... but New York City does.

Do you ever threaten to lock someone up in your basement for a decade with a bunch of crazy-mean people if they pick up feathers that turn out to be hawk feathers? No... but the Fedgov does.

Restrictions and laws that seem unreasonable, coupled with penalties that seem even more unreasonable, are some of the main reasons I dislike the way our current governmental system works.

I see your picture, now here's mine: I just don't see any new party in my life time unless it was the result of a separation of an already popular party.

This is, perhaps, because no one really sees any other parties as viable, and most of the other parties have strange views which many people at least partially disagree with - the current main 2 parties at least have familiar views they disagree with.

If this is true, I'd say it's a cultural problem. Which needs changing. Which of course means that I'm up in a bunch of someone's business.
