INFJ.

I have probably taken a dozen versions of this test over the years and I always get the same result.

This is the second time I took it. The last time was in 2000 when I was living with a lover who was a psychology major. I used to read her textbooks and the test was in one of those.

IIRC my results were different than now. I used to be a bit more intraverted.

This subject has come up in a few other threads around here recently, so I thought it might be interesting to post the test above for the whole board to take.

I'm honestly curious to see what kinds of personality types DP seems most likely to attract.

As for myself, I am a "Rational" INTJ (Introverted 67%, intuitive 50%, Thinking 63%, Judging 23%) type.

ENFP.

When I was in college, I took one of these tests and I got "INTJ." So it just goes to show how our personalities can change in only a couple years.

Have you had a good astrological horoscope (birthtime down to the minute and worked from there) done on you? Those things can be uncanny. Really weird. I haven't looked into the mechanics but I have had some detailed readings done and they can be about as accurate as the personality tests. Maybe its an expectations thing in the mind.

I think your right on the preferences thing and how they can be classified.

I'm assuming that would work on the same principles that a "psychic" uses. Nothing but bull**** and cold-reading.

ENFP

ENFP personality

Forming around 7% of the population, people with the ENFP personality type tend to be curious, idealistic and often mystical. They seek meaning and are very interested in other people’s motives, seeing life as a big, complex puzzle where everything is connected. Not surprisingly, ENFPs tend to be very insightful and empathic individuals – this, plus their charm and social skills, often makes them very popular and influential.

Sandra Bullock ENFPOn the other hand, this can also be a disadvantage as the ENFP is likely to worry about not being sufficiently original or spontaneous. If they are not careful, this personality trait can lower their self-esteem.

ENFP personalities are usually characterized by high levels of enthusiasm, especially when it comes to things that spark their imagination – in such cases, ENFPs can be very energetic and convincing, able to easily convince other people to join their cause. Ironically, this trait can also turn against the ENFP, when they suddenly find themselves in the center of the stage, being seen as leaders and inspiring gurus by other people. ENFPs strive to be independent and, unsurprisingly, do not always welcome such attention.

ENFP personalities are very emotional and sensitive, seeing feelings as something that everyone should take time to understand and express. However, this trait can also cause a lot of stress for them as ENFPs may often focus too much on other people’s motives and possible meanings of their actions. People with this personality type are observant and intuitive, but can make serious mistakes trying to use their interpretation of other people’s emotions as a basis for their decisions.

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for – and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool – for love – for your dreams – for the adventure of being alive.

ENFPs are also likely to have difficulties dealing with routine, administrative matters. They are more interested in freedom and inspiration than security and stability, and this attitude is usually clearly visible – an ENFP would rather try to come up with an interesting solution or an idea, no matter how difficult that is, than deal with simple yet boring tasks.

People with the ENFP personality type know how to relax, drawing on their imagination, enthusiasm and people skills – for instance, they can be very serious and passionate about work during the day and then let off steam in a wild party in a nightclub. This switch between the two modes can often be instantaneous, often surprising even their closest friends.

Finally, ENFPs are non-conformists, following their own path and trusting their intuition. Their talents are numerous, but they all rely on the ENFP being given enough freedom. People with this personality type can quickly become impatient and dejected if they get stuck in a boring role, unable to freely express themselves – but when the ENFP finally finds their place in the world, their imagination, empathy and courage are likely to produce incredible results.

very high E (78%)

high N (65%)

Slight T, but can switch to F fairly often (55%)

Slight P but can switch to J in certain situations (generally when I get stressed and my personality flips to get stuff done guy) (58%)

I tend to be P in low stress moments and want to be social, but when things stress me out (like the network architect blaming **** on me yesterday) I go J and get it done (to prove him wrong)

I got to number 20, saw there were 40 more questions...and gave up.
That would indicate that you're personality type is IDGF.

If that means 'I don't care about online personality quiz's very much'...then yup, I guess I am.

I'm an INFJ. Can't say I disagree, but it's a little weird.

ENTP..just like last time.

Holy crap!! This is me to a "T"!!
ENTP personalities tend to use their mind in a very specific way and this is especially noticeable in the professional environment – they enjoy brainstorming and outlining all the options, but do their best to stay away from actual implementation. Again, such a trait can be very valuable in certain situations, but cause tension in the workplace as the ENTP may be perceived as having fingers in many pies, but not willing to work hard to implement their ideas. ENTPs also tend to be non-conformists and love challenging existing rules and routines, which makes them irreplaceable where there is a need to rip up the existing models and come up with new, original plans.

It is also worth mentioning that ENTPs usually prefer dealing with complex ideas and difficult challenges rather than day-to-day concerns. They enjoy thinking big and are good at it – it may take a while for an ENTP to reach the position that would allow them to fully utilize such a trait, but once they do, the flow of ideas will become unstoppable. However, the ENTP will still need to rely on other people to put them in place.

...

In general, ENTP personalities are very rational and do not see much value in emotions or emotional arguments. Consequently, they are great when it comes to logical thinking, but likely to have difficulties in the emotional area – ENTPs’ confidence and keen sense of humor are usually very attractive, but they can easily (and often inadvertently) hurt an individual belonging to a different personality type. F types are especially vulnerable in such situations as they strongly dislike criticism and arguing, while ENTPs thrive on this.

I got the same answer. It's nice being an Idealist...for all the good it does us!

Greetings, humbolt. :2wave:

Good morning. Hope it's getting warmer up there. It is here. I have no idea what good it does us to be idealist, but hopefully somebody somewhere benefits. I know it's caused me trouble now and then, but it's a little late to try to change my stripes. I have found that self-employment is far better for me than dealing with the shenanigans of some of the people running companies - some very large - for whom I've worked. I'm pretty stubborn about certain things, which seems to come with the territory of this INFJ thing. I didn't read the very detailed description available at the very end. Had I spent a few hours in advance of the test driving, I'm certain my patience element would have been lower, to say the least.

So did mine!

"INTJ personalities exhibit an animal magnetism women find hard to resist, their sardonic wit and general air of savoir faire exceeded only by their impeccable taste and excellent posture. Such traits they put to good use in their work and social environments, attracting great hordes of admirers eager to bask in their many resplendent qualities. Quick witted and facile with language, the INTJ male finds fertile ground in both academic and cocktail party pursuits, exhibiting an urbane charm unmatched by any other type.

It is also worth mentioning that the INTJ male is usually prone to great feats of heroics, his ability to extricate cats from lofty perches and babies from burning buildings almost second nature to him, and he does so with such an air of insouciance that many a great writer has seized upon his archetype as they create characters of unmatched brilliance. The INTJ male not only succeeds in all he sets out to do, but does so with such selflessness and devotion to the common good that only his natural humility has prevented him from accepting the various overtures the Vatican sends him by way of reversing their policy that a saint must actually be dead before the vote can take place.

In general, the INTJ male combines all those myriad qualities others can only aspire to; consequently, they are often misunderstood and might be resented by the hoi polloi were it not for their incredible charisma turning any potential enemy into the most dedicated friend. They not only thrive among mere mortals, but do so with such grace and style that their natural superiority seems no more questioned than that of whether the sun will rise in the east each day. Blessed are those who have encountered one".

I am not quite sure. I think astrology has something to do with planet alignments and angles not much "reading" involved from what I understand. But every time I have gotten a detailed charting with the birth time used as the starting point its pretty spot on describing primary personality tendencies and even antipathy. Generally I have done these sorts of things in an online environment without seeing someone but a girlfriend who was really into that sort of thing wanted to go get a live chart done up, which we did. It turned out about the same as the others that were done. Your probably right, astrology is a bunch of hocus pocus. But I do for whatever reason find fascinating on occasion.

As far a personality tests, I am not sure they encompass the duality or multiplicity that is some people's personality, and that people are different in different situations. For instance I have been in some very extremely dangerous very high stress situations both as part of a team and as a leader. My personality at those times would be described probably as machine like, very cold, curt, precise, disembodied and utterly no fear or other feeling, ruthless even, utterly and completely focused. Feelings of any kind were dampened to almost nothing other than an occasional passing thought. The best way to describe it would be to as watching yourself though your own eyes while your body is on autopilot and you are observing and making occasional corrections. Things are moving fast and slow at the same time. Decisions were made instantaneously without regard to the feelings of others in regards to accomplishing the mission that was at hand, which was the highest priority. Many of my decisions were made before the mission ever left base and just adjusted for circumstance of the time. I have only ever had that "personality" if you will while under the most arduous of circumstance. I have never duplicated it stateside, ever. Most decisions of any consequence I tend to over analyze and dither a bit, more so the less clear cut the optimum choice is, and I tend to stop and examine shiny objects that catch my fancy. My family calls out shiny object every time I get sidetracked which is very often. Absent minded would be a generous term. I am so bad I get sidetracked, while am sidetracked, I love finding rabbit holes to explore. The point being that I think most people have a at least a duality of personality that can be polar opposite of their primary personality which I think that a personality test unless its exceptionally detailed is not going to catch especially if the subjects have never been in high stress situations, so the subjects wouldn't even know about that side of their personality.

I would expand that further and say that some people can be more compartmentalized than others in personality traits and it depends on time and place for certain of those traits to manifest. I myself was unaware of my "Computer Mode" for lack of a better description, until I found myself in the middle of a certified **** storm complete with high speed high volume fan. I know for certain I have more than one "personality" depending on the circumstance, though they tend to be more or less revolve around my primary personality. I think schizophrenia is an extreme manifestation of this duality, multiplicity that people have. That's also why I think schizophrenia is brought on by extreme duress, and instead of reverting back to their primary personality they for whatever reason, continue to exhibit the alternate personality or flip between personalities.

Famous people that have my personality archetype.
Socrates, philosopher
Rene Descartes, philosopher
Blaise Pascal, mathematician, philosopher
Isaac Newton, physicist
Carl Jung, psychologist
Albert Einstein, physicist
James Madison, the former U.S. president
Dwight D. Eisenhower, a former U.S. president
Gerald Ford, former U.S. president
Tiger Woods, professional golfer

I guess that puts me in pretty good company.
