Which Economic system to you is the best for a society?

NSA type spying economy is doomed.

That worked out great until the great depression and about 3% of the population...

You do know that state intervention is what keep America in the depression longer then any other industrialize nation.

Nope, there was state intervention. If you agree, respond to me in this thread.

Given a society so culturally and ideologically dissimilar to the one we have now? Communism, of course.

A mixture of the good elements of all.

Well, I believe that there is no such thing as a perfect society or a perfect economic or other social concept.

I firmly reject every form of utopia and therefor have to say that there is no such thing as a perfect economic system.

What I prefer is a representative body that examines failures and pros out of various different policies and constantly keeps learning, rather than trying to find some dubious "perfect system".

Why do all these types of polls lack any and all nuance? There are basically 2 purely capitalist economies on earth, Hong Kong and Singapore, and even in Hong Kong there are some safety nets. Every large developed economy on earth is a mixed market economy. There are those that have a lot of state intervention such as China and there are those that have much less such as the United States, Australia, and Canada, but aside from a couple of city states, its all mixed market economies. Thus why is a mixed market economy not an option?

There are also hardly any socialist economies on earth outside of Scandinavia, and at this point there are only 2 communist economies left that I can think of.

What does that even mean? They're contradistinctive.

How would you reconcile Capitalism's pursuit of profit and competition with Communism's egalitarian focus on human need?

I would reconcile it by pointing out you mislabeled both.

The way every mixed market economy on earth has. You have a capitalist system with market regulation, worker protections, environmental protections, and some sort of a safety net.

Yes, including the Scandis.

Would you do that, Scatt? For me? Love ya, babe. :kissy:

That's very industrious of you. If not, then how do you happen to come by such penetration so effortlessly?

Because Capitalism's all about human need. Sho nuff.

The starving millions say cheers for the safety net.
