Good choice.
There has ALWAYS been state intervention in our economy one way or another.
Good choice.
I can't do this.

Because Capitalism's all about human need. Sho nuff.
The starving millions say cheers for the safety net.
I can't do this. Not with you. I just can't. I'm not that strong.
Sorry, Scatt. No offence, luv.
I am glad you agree with me.
How could Communism decline having never existed? As communism declined over the last 40 years, and globalism has been on the march with more and more countries transitioning to mixed economies with less state intervention, the worldwide abject poverty rate has declined precipitously even with all the population growth we have experienced:
I've come to believe that, while nothing will ever surprise me, there'll be no shortage of stillborn attempts to spite me.Just when you thought there were no new kinds of ridiculous...
:lamo :doh This is probably the most ridiculous statement ever made.
So your going to say Somalia is a paradise?
How could Communism decline having never existed?
Here's to blind hope.idea

That's sexist.Those damn Scotsmen.
No, not 'fully. At all. Ever. We had Socialism for the briefest flicker of time. That's as close as anyone ever got.Perhaps the reason why it has never fully existed is because its a utopian idea that is impossible to actually implement on a national scale.

It comes down, as per usual, to throwing around definitions with no knowledge of the subject matter.
Yes a couple of right wing economists thinks he prolonged the depression, yet hardly anyone alive a time feels the same way. He was by far, by far, the most beloved president in U.S. history. People thought of him as practically one notch below Jesus. The man was even Reagan's hero at the time. When he came to office the hands off approach had failed so miserably that there were literally food riots.

Just shows how much the wool had been pulled over the American people eyes.
Dude, who has the wool pulled over their eyes? Some revisionist ideologues today, or the people that actually lived through the Great Depression themselves and elected and then reelected FDR 4 times? I mean come on, they lived though it, they saw the New Deal in action, they loved FDR. Ask anyone, anyone that is still alive today that lived through the Depression what they thought of the New Deal and FDR.
That was never an option. As luck would have it, they're more concerned with your sponsorship.Take it easy on the Scotsmen.
Not since you believe they could so much as be attempted 'nationally', to the exclusion of the global necessity that defines them.I know what socialism is and what communism is.
I think the problem with internet forums is, there's no obligation to avail oneself of education in advance.I think the problem with communism is that it goes against human instinctual behavior so much that it just doesn't work unless its compelled by a totalitarian state.
Can I ask the locked up Japanese Americans?

The vast majority of Japanese Americans vote Democrat today, so go ahead and ask them. The fact is, FDR is by far the most beloved president in U.S. history. Lincoln and FDR had more to deal with than any other presidents in U.S. history by a wide margin. Every other presidency has been a cakewalk compared to what those two men had to contend with, and aside with a few total nutjobs might claim, the are widely regarded by the public and by historians as two of the greatest presidents in U.S. history.
