Lately, and not the first time, some people, famous, running for office, celebs etc around the world have said statements like:

“God is angry. We are provoking him with abortions and same-sex marriage and civil unions,” she said.
Candidate Susanne Atanus believes that autism and forms of dementia are punishments sent by God because of the growing support for marriage equality in the country and the prevalence of abortion.

Why is these people's god such a dick? They never have examples of this god doing something really cool, just hurting people and being capricious. Doesn't that bother them? Wouldn't it bother you to pray to a god who was just cruel all the time?

Completely insane. What kind of a sadistic asshole punishes an entire nation for treating someone with respect and equality? If he does exist, which I doubt, he's a tyrant and I want nothing to do with him.

If that pisses him off, he shouldn't have created me with compassion and a conscience.

in the gay sinners thread i said somethign similar

my religion is christianity and I dont know if my personal religion is right according to whoever god is, i dont know if my personal views are right according to god

but what i do know for a fact

if the people who are homosexuals dont get into heaven simply and only because they are homosexuals and had homosexual love with each other, id be severely disappointed in who/what god is and would have wasted quite some time praying and honoring an entity that isnt worthy of either.

And I didn't even know KFC had stuffing and I've never had a famous bowl.

A bucket of chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes, coleslaw and gravy is all you need!

And an exercise bike so you won't have a heart attack. lol
 
There's about 6 verses in the bible condemning homosexuality, dozens and dozens condemning liars. Which do you think God would punish?

For a second there I thought the Penguin from Batman Returns cut his hair, put on a wig, and was running for congress. Sure the nose is a little smaller but the resemblence is uncanny.

Of course it's not God, there's no reason to think that there is a God to begin with. It's people's religious delusions, nothing more.

Also, I see little chance of this person getting elected - even if that area has a bunch of anti-gay-marriage types, I doubt they want an insane spokesperson.
 
If we were going to be "punished" for anything, it would be abortion and the rampant immorality and hedonistic depravity which has become endemic to our culture in recent decades. Hell! In many ways, we already are being "punished" in the form of a barely functional society on the verge of decline and possibly even eventual collapse.

The issue of "gay rights" barely even registers in comparison to the above.

I do not now about God, but I now, in Socialistic countries, gas was prosecute. Jail time in Soviet prison, for gays means painful death from beatings and abuse.

The Soviet Union, despite its official non-religious stance, was still heavily steeped in centuries of Russian Orthodox ideas. And it abandoned pretty much every tenet of socialism as quickly as it could and turned into a military dictatorship.

Either way, what's your point?

My point is, do not need Socialists stand for gay rights. But you need to ask them for forgiveness for the crimes of their fellow comrads.
