I don't know, but I sincerely hope that there won't be any serious incidents at the Olympics. I'm not confident, however.

Just trying to make light of a tense situation. A little levity goes a long way.not really that funny to the people of Volgograd...

You humble me. Salud!don't think you can make light of global terror but as a fan of dark comedy I applaud your effort
Those dudes from Dagestan and Chechnya are hardcore, scary people. They have been fighting long before Al Qaida even came to be. I'd venture to say some of them make Al Qaida look like choir boys. This will not go on without an incident. They don't value human life, especially their own.
That being said, Spetsnaz will light up anyone that even hints at making a scene, without discrimination or hesitation. They kill first and ask questions later...no red tape for them. I do feel a bit comfortable knowing some of the most ruthless SOBs that have ever walked the planet are guarding athletes from across the globe.
Toss a coin. This isn't the U.S., they don't need planes or boats to get there. The caucuses connect to Russia...they don't need much help to get across the border, a backpack maybe. They ARE in Russia as we speak, they always have been. There is no debating that. Do they attack? More than likely. With success? Who knows. They made a mess for years, this is delivering the western world on a silver platter symbolically. It's hard to believe they won't be foaming at the mouth at the prospect of attacking everyone they hate simultaneously.
Again...Spetsnaz is on the scene. As mentioned above, they kill first and ask questions later...and they are VERY good at their job.
They are very good however in the weeks leading to the games they have allowed suicide bombers to make their deadly statement in Volgograd.
Quite true. They are better at pre-emptive strike, AKA kill the **** out of everyone that even thinks about killing Russians. Hopefully (and I'm not a fan of war) they get the drop on these guys (and girls, they are notorious for suicide bombings).
Honestly, I'm surprised (actually, I'm not as we backed the fundamentalists against the soviets in the 70s/80s) we haven't started a united front against them with the Russians.
Putin did hold out his hand after 9/11 but the west passed him over.

I hope it won't be in any way like the 1972 summer games. Hard to shake that thought when contemplating what's going on with Russia right now.
How so?
