Just a simple poll to see how many of you would take a free trip to Paris for a week if it were given to you tomorrow, to be redeemed sometime in the near future.

What's your answer, and why?

No, but not for any anti-French thing. We could travel anywhere we wanted to anyway.

I've been to Paris. It's a gorgeous city. Anyone who wouldn't take a free trip to Paris is not thinking straight.

For free? We-we, but of course! Might help me to learn some French first though.

It's a dirty, crowded, expensive, and unwelcoming city.

The museums, food, and landmarks are nice though. First class wine too.

I didn't get to check out Versailles or any of the cabarets last time I went. That'd be my major reason for going back.

I voted yes, because I'm not a moron. If you don't like Paris, visit another city in France. Heck, you can visit any of a number of countries, very nearby.

However, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Why do I feel like this is one of those, "Well if you did take a free trip to Paris, it'd cost every American family $75.98 cents, so you SUCK! THANKS OBAMA!" kinds of threads.

Paris is honestly one of those places you visit just to say you've been.

Yea... It does seem a little suspicious.

Assuming all expenses were paid for, I can go anywhere I want and I do not have to sit through any stupid seminars or some other similar bull**** then sure I would go on a free trip to Paris,

Fair enough -- why not then?

Because there are hundreds of other places I'd rather go. I like where I live. We travel fairly often. Paris isn't on the list. So it isn't "why not" Paris? It is why Paris more than every place else? If I was going to Europe, I'd first pick the UK because we speak the language. Probably Greece next because of the geography.

Obviously! Who wouldn't?

I am overcome with curiosity on why this question has been asked. Did you win a trip?

Paris, France or Paris, Texas?

But it's FREE.

30 years ago, I would have done it in a heartbeat. Now? I'm really not certain that I would.

No.

I'm not much into travel anyway, and I can think of nothing that Paris could offer me that would be worth having to put up with being sexually assaulted by the perverts of the TSA.

Eh. Excuse for a road trip either way.

Naw, man. I'm like freaking Thelma and Louise. I'd drive around Texas before I drove through it. *shudder*

No thanks. If it's Paris, Texas, you can keep the trip. I'd rather stay home and clip my husband's toenails.

What's so wrong with Texas?

Surely Dallas or San Antonio must have something to offer at the very least.

I'd go to Texas. It's not Massachusetts.

Exactly. It's someplace new!

I've never been to Texas before. I'm sure there's plenty of new things to see and do there.

I've never been either, I just know it's warmer than Massachusetts.
