No prob, I took it wrong.
No worries, mate.

O.J. Simpson currently is overweight, severe diabetic and claims he has brain cancer. He's petitioning President Obama for a pardon to die in peace at home.
He looks pretty awful, and it's hard to forget his former NFL career and contribution.
O.J. Simpson 'is undergoing tests for BRAIN CANCER
Yes, he has been jailed and was in jail when he got sick. He is going to die soon and will (if he is religious and believes so) going to meet his maker and account for his crime there too which could lead him into a place much worse than prison (again, if you believe in that kind of thing).
Just because this killer has shown his horrible side and shown his lack of mercy, we as a society should show that we are morally superior to him and allow his loved ones who are innocent of any crime, to say goodbye to him. Our last slight of him will be that we were humane enough to show compassion where he had none and that is something that should weigh equally heavy on his mind IMHO.
Heya Sméagol. :2wave: Are you sure on that and what he can Pardon? Anyone!
Presidential Pardons: Legal Guidelines
While Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution places no limitations on the president's power to grant or deny pardons, the Justice Department's U.S. Pardon Attorney prepares a recommendation for the president on each application for presidential "clemency," including pardons, commutations of sentences, remissions of fines, and reprieves.....snip~

I don't see why any one convict should have exceptions made for him. If the policy becomes releasing all terminal convicts to die at home, that would be different.
First, it is the Enquirer, not exactly the most reliable newspaper. Second, I thought he was in jail for a state matter, not Obama's call. Third, he is common jailhouse scum.
The National Enquirer was notorious 30 years ago for scandal journalism but after mucho libel suits they've been said to have a much higher percentage of accurate reporting lately. That doesn't mean I believe Simpson has brain cancer but I do believe they're testing him for it.
Finally, someone who isn't so overly biased. OJ did look like nutbag driving all over LA before turning himself in and may have even committed the murders but I fail to see how persecuting him brings anyone peace?
You mean riding all over LA right?
Getting a little technical aren't you? His friend was driving him, so you knew what I meant?
No it is not technical. I didn't know if you were a kid that thought OJ was driving.
I just wish OJ would have followed through on his threat when he was in the Bronco. It would have simplified my life.
I'm sorry it had such a big direct impact on your life were you related to the case somehow?
He could volunteer to go to Ohio to try out their new drug mixture so that people who are worried can see that they will indeed kill humanely.
Do you think Obama would stick his nose in this case?
He has commented on many a local case before.
I'm aware he has stuck his nose where he has no business. The Mass professor, and the photo op beer summit, and the Martin "if I had a son", the Conn shooting, to name 3, but, like these, mostly they are just "I care" photo ops.
I think Barry has too many other problems at this stage to bother with OJ.

Carol Burnett's lawsuit brought the "National Intruder" to heel. I mean, it is what it is...but it did break the story of Jonathan Edwards's cheating at the Beverly Hills Hotel. It wasn't believed, just as when TMZ broke the news of Michael Jackson's death, it wasn't. But they were both correct. Stopped clocks and all that.
Yes, if he truly has brain cancer and is in the final stages of dying, he should be allowed to die in a special hospice/at home but only if he can provide for his own medical staff (out of his own pocket) for his terminal care.
People who are dying of cancer should be in a place where their loved ones can come and go without any issue, even murderers should be allowed do die in such manner.
I agree that his death involves other people such of his family, and they may need to say things to him, ask him questions, etc. perhaps he could come clean and confession to all he did. That would be great.
But I was too young to follow the trial, or know much about his life. Does his family support him, do his kids even talk to him?
Would that also hold true for someone who brutally murdered your wife and children?
I do not know, but if he has burnt all his bridges he will truly feel that when he is at a hospice until he dies. At the hospice he will be treated well, but if he has no visitors than that is due to his former crimes.

If the question were whether all prisoners with terminal diseases should be allowed to die peacefully at home, I might support that. But OJ shouldn't get special treatment because he's a celebrity.
