Given the following scenarios I give the explanations for either not voting or voting.

I do not feel I have the freedom to say what I will do:

I an now giving my onion and thus does not apply.

I would proudly fight for my Government:

This is a wrong attitude for a free people to have. Also I do not consider it my government really, there is too much control by elites and it is restricted to two Parties and I do not think that people with a libertarian philosophy will be able to have even a choice in governance. Also since that our government is no longer bound by the Constitution as intended, then it cannot be considered to be a just and valid government but one that dominates the People.

I would proudly fight for my Freedom:

Are we really a free people or are just allowed to be free in those areas that the governing class would allow us to be free in? Unless there is a significant hope that we would overthrow them and their tools then this would be moot.

I would proudly fight for my draft beer.:

Unless the invaders are Muslim then this would not be an issue. If so then I would fight for other reasons since I am a teetotaler.

See option for Other.

Firstly, I assume that it is an unjust war that the US brought about. Secondly, If the US were on the point of being invaded that would be an opportune time for some State such as Texas to secede. Since I live in Oklahoma hopefully we would join them; after all, Texas might be our adversary but DC is our enemy. And while Oklahoma has some of the strictest rules to allow third Parties after that It would be easier since there is no election for President of the US or fear about weakening some "conservative" coalition in Congress.

Okay, then I think it's safe to say then that I wouldn't opt to be drafted to fight a nonexistent enemy who wants to take a our toxic, unarable wasteland. Happy?

I'd probably keep it close to home with my neighbors. It would be way past the point of helping the entire country.

They are disinterested in fighting for their freedom, or disinterested in fighting additional political wars, because there is a difference, surely you would agree.

I would bet many of them would go into the fetal position once they realize the government wasn't going to save them.

The only way I can see that changing is if some form of perfect or near-perfect anti-missile system is developed and implemented - thereby eliminating missile-delivered nuclear weapons as a reasonable attack method.

Thaad has been incredibly successful shooting down tridents. 99%

When in the last 70 years has the US government fought a war for the purposes of saving Americans?

Well they used that as reasoning to find 'terrorists' through out the world and kill them but, in actuality, not recently.

Interesting.

I happen to have the self-control necessary to simply not watch it, myself.

Those magic boxes effect in different ways, depending upon mental clarity....

The US needs to shed that nasty habit of trying to take care of everyone else.

Screw 'em.

Let them take care of their own ****.

But often their **** becomes our ****, because we aren't completely self-sufficient.

It's one world, and all the nationals in short are a fraud.

Hell no. Nationalism is a pathology, a substitute for when religion fails to control. I'd get a weapon for self defense and if "the enemy" - whether the thug from across town looking to steal an iphone, or putin himself - comes to my front door, then i'll take care of business.

Sure we are.... we just let capitalist corporations and money rule instead of common sense.

As an America hater your opinion counts about as much a squirrel crap...

I have to go with the draft beer. I'm sure that, by now, soldiers fighting in the US military have realized they are fighting (mostly) for private interests - and I guess they're ok with it. What the hell, they figure. Pays the bills.

Some soldiers perhaps do. But when you look at the average age of soldiers killed in combat, it's very low. We can't hold these near youths responsible for Washington's foreign policy sins. If you remember being 22, your full of testosterone, that the presidents a crook has never entered your mind, the flag and patriotism is all team sport and the military is geared toward exploiting all that. I remember being there.
