Are you going to get health insurance?

Are you going to get health insurance because Obamacare mandates it?

Yes. I know what you mean. It just seems to me the results to this poll are going to be very skewed. I think his target audience was people without insurance.

The yes answers would indicate people who bought insurance in order to comply with the law. The no answers would indicate people who still won't buy insurance even though the Affordable Care Act requires it. If all of those no answers are from people who have had insurance for years then the poll makes absolutely no sense to me.

Perhaps this poll needs to be redone. Maybe it's not as simple as yes or no. Perhaps this was his intent but I don't see what insight he gathered if the no answers are so widely diverse in character.

I was also confused by the original question wording and that is why I asked what I did. Then, when I said NO, I explained the basis of my "NO" response.

Then things went downhill......as things tend to do.

Not quite yet. I recently changed jobs, and am not really sure what I will do about health insurance. I may just pay the fine for now.

And what does a job have to do with you HC? Now nothing.

Sign up for medicaid since you have no income...............

Um, she said she JUST CHANGED JOBS. Where do you get no income out of that? Don't you read what you respond to?

Voted No.

I have had health insurance most of my life. So no I don't have insurance because of Obamacare. I have it for the many of the same reasons I have car insurance. To have some level of protection against a major financial hit.

Glad I don't have to deal with this crap. You guys have fun!!

Are you going to get health insurance just because Obamacare mandates it? A simple yes or no question.
Simple No, but I would like to add my explanation so I don't sound like a cheap skate or a smart ass: The cost of health care can not be fair and normal until the government liberates itself from pharmaceutical industry, and as such I know that I will only get screwed. You now need a prescription to get eye drops, and a doctors visit for that cost my father $1,100 in the 90's in Philadelphia. when this issue will be addressed and solved, I will consider being fair and getting health insurance. until then I vote like 90% of Americans in this poll

I'll get healthcare as soon as I am physically capable of it. My state is fighting the Medicaid expansion.

Just think that with each person that signs up for medicaid you add a drain to the system. I wonder if you get it back by having a person sign up for healthcare. I doubt it.

Should a person with a net worth of $400 pay $400 a month for health insurance to protect their assets?
Should a person with a net worth of $10,000 pay $400 a month for health insurance to protect their assets?
Should a person with a net worth of $500,000 pay $400 a month for health insurance to protect their assets?

If your answer is yes to all, I will understand your position. If you answer no to any of these please fill in an appropriate dollar amount for X in the following statement.

A person with a net worth of X should pay $400 a month for health insurance to protect their assets.

There are varying levels of insurance both health and car. Feds and States set minimum requirements. You want more coverage you will pay more. A persons net worth should not play a role.

Bottom line, for the same coverage, we all should pay the same premium.

I'm waiting until I get some catastrophic ailment then sign up.

Not many people would pay $400 to protect $400 in assets. Lots of people would pay $400 a month to protect $500,000 in assets. Insurance is a product designed to take on a risk that the consumer is unwilling to take. Many broke people are willing to take the risk of losing their net worth. Many wealthy people aren't willing to take the risk of losing their net worth.

What do you think insurance is designed to do? Net worth is the only factor that matters. (Sorry, there is no face for super duper confused.)

What is a life worth if the person has:
a net worth of $400
net worth of $10,000
net worth of $500,000 ?

Why should one person who is worth more pay more for the same level of health care insurance than someone who has less?

Insurance is about money. Health care is the thing the doctor does. I'm talking about the insurance policy that is sold by the slimey salesman. If you don't understand that insurance is a financial product then I am incapable of having a conversation with you.

Are you going to get health insurance just because Obamacare mandates it? A simple yes or no question.

I've already had health insurance through my work for years now. I figured they offer it, so I may as well take advantage of it.

Drain to the system is the F-35 and the MIC as a whole. Drain to the system is $700B to bail out bad investments from rich people............

$2000 a year for HC for some poor person, is not a "drain" on the system.

Yes. I did but I still haven't received my insurance cards or any correspondence from Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina since I sent them my premium back in the middle of December.

I'm beginning to think this whole thing is a big giant scam. But what is the end objective of said scammers.
