I pray that Joe Biden or John Kerry take the nomination. I really do.

How could the GOP possibly lose under those circumstances?

The problem the GOP has is that their base in the primaries force candidates to tack so far to the right and take such extreme positions that they poison them for a general election. If the Dems acted like the current Republican primary voters, they would demand that their candidate was either Dennis Kucinich or Bernie Sanders, or they would force whoever they did select to run on the same platform.

In the post war era, there are only 2 candidates that did not run a center left or center right campaign and actually ended up winning: Ronald Reagan and Obama. Reagan was able to win running as a hardcore conservative because he was running against Carter who was widely perceived to have been a failed president and we were in the middle of the Iran Hostage Crisis and Carter looked totally impotent to do anything about it. Obama won because were in the midst of the worst recession and financial crisis since the Great Depression. Extraordinary circumstances like that are the only way a non-moderate ever gets elected (people forget that Bush ran on a center right platform in 2000). The Republicans think they need another Reagan when what they actually need is another Eisenhower.

I think you're right. His speech at the 2004 convention is when he became the rising star of the DNC.

This kind of makes me think of the mayor of San Antonio, although I can't remember his name.

Julian Castro. Who I am hoping will be Hilary's running mate. It would be an unstoppable ticket.

#1, there is no guarantee that the GOP will continue to control the House.

#2, if it does that is a good reason to put a Democrat in the White House.

The prime directive is to hold the Senate in 2014..
We already know the GOP will move on impeachment if they take the Senate..
Due to GM, the House is safe GOP until the next remaps .

i voted biden because no one would want kerry, i have never heard of the other 3 and i don't have a preference otherwise

For Hillary not to run, there would have to be a destructive fire at the polyester pant suit factor she keeps in business.

Yeesh.

Hilary Clinton-Oprah Winfrey. Betable odds, I bet.

So who gave the speech at the 2012 convention?

Right.

The man said that he accepted it, but when did he really accept what had happened?

This was a guy who was 100 percent sure that Romney was going to win, it took a lot for him to give up that idea.

Yep, I almost felt sorry for him...

So who gave the speech at the 2012 convention?

The mayor of San Antonio, Castro. Very compelling story of a son of immigrants in poverty who went on to run the city.

Tbh, sounds like any other Scorcesse movie.

The D party has some rather palatable candidates. My guess is that it will be a woman.
In order
Clinton
Warren
Landrieu.

Joe Biden
John Kerry

Rahm Emanuel
Antonio Villaraigosa

What do you mean?! This is the best of the crop!

I meant his story. Son of poor immigrants making it to the top? That's Hollywood stuff.

If they run Biden, it's a guaranteed loss. Honestly, I don't know if Hillary can win, either, unless the Republicans run some absolute nutball.

My guess is Christie runs. His personality carries him through the primary. Then the Republicans paint Hillary as a shrill monster, promise to get rid of the massively unpopular health care fine, and win the white house.

This is years away, so i could be full of ****. Also, none of this is my personal preference. I'd prefer to see an extremely pro worker candidate come in and make some real changes. Christie is interesting, but he isn't pro union, and who knows what bones he would throw to the social right? Too big of a risk to take.

I think either Debbie Wasserman Schultz or Maxine Waters would be excellent candidates. Both are very well respected and representative of The Democrat Party of today.

There is too much video of both of them saying stupid things.

If she doesn't run that world will be a better place.
