So what does that make conservative nationalists? Nationalist fascist? I mean c''mon we wanna play this ignorant game?

.

Before 1965 the vast majority of Americans be they Democrats or Republicans were nationalist. Patriotic Americans, America first.

Those who weren't nationalist in America were either Communist Party USA, Marxist, anarchist, the New Left or internationalist socialist.

Do you know who Francis Bellamy was ? He was a socialist. Was he an internationalist socialist or a nationalist socialist ?

He wrote the Pledge of Allegiance.

And before 1942 every morning all across America in every classroom this took place.

Oh APACHERAT... Remember if you dont follow your own narrow ways then your just a dirty traitor, right?

Well I'll enlighten you.
Nelson Mandela was not an ordinary South African be he black or white. He was smart, well educated and even practiced law. Not an ordinary South African during the 1950's and 60's.

Mandela was actually of Royal blood of the Thembu people (Transkei) which left South Africa officially in 1976 and was actually independent for almost 20 years before that. Transkei wasn't part of South Africa until 1994. He wasn't even "South African" for most of the struggle. Transkei was recognized by South Africa as an independent nation. Rest of the world said it wasn't.

Whats this about New Caledonia? Wait did you just admit it!? That apartheid is ok!?
Wait whats this about New Caledonia? Wait? Is this New Caledonia?

Wait are you moving the goal posts again?
Did you still not answer my question? I believe you still haven't.

There you go again TheDemSocialist, saying things that nobody ever said.

I was just making a point, that most Americans no little about apartheidism. Most countries in the world have used it at one time or another, even in America. When the American Indian was put on reservations it was apartheid.

There's still are governments in the world who still use apartheidism. Just like slavery is still practiced in most of Africa and parts of the Middle east, not for getting the Peoples Republic of China.

Transkei was a dictatorship ruled by a corrupt one party government, and was essentially a vassal of South Africa the entire time.

Did you miss racial segregation in this country?

When I was in South Africa in 1977, some of the South African surfers pointed out to me that most of the blacks living in South Africa weren't South Africans, mostly immigrants and illegal aliens.

What brought it up, I asked about all of the young black African men I would see walking down the streets with marijuana joints as big as a Havana cigars. They said they weren't South Africans, foreign trouble makers.

So yes. You agree with political trials and political prisoners. Good to know..

But socialist have executed more.

Oh so you are the "lesser of two evils". Agreeing wit opression tho. How very noble and "conservative" of you. At least you are showing your true colors.

In the light of Nelson Mandela's death, was Nelson Mandela a freedom fighter or a terrorist? Or "other" (please explain)?

Mandela was one of the greatest freedom fighters the world has ever known. Today he rests with King and Gandhi.

It does not matter what those who would call him 'terrorist' think, just as it did not matter what those who called King a 'communist' thought, just as it did not matter what those who tried to brand Gandhi as a 'tool of the Bourgeoisie' thought.

History will write their stories, not detractors.

What would heroes be if they didn't have enemies .. what would freedom fighters be if they didn't have detractors

RIP Madiba

Nelson Mandela was a freedom fighter who brought White minority rule and apartheid to an end in South Africa.

This made a lot of people happy and a few racists unhappy.

C'est la vie. That's life. No good deed is left unpunished

What does that make our founding fathers? Jihadist terrorist or communists?

Our founding fathers were men who fought for freedom for themselves, but not for the Black slaves that many of them owned.

Dumping tea, boycotting, and attacking the wealthy brits would be considered terrorism. Picture this the British denying rights to the colonists (The white dominated South African gov(Afrikaners)) oppressing the Black South Africans), and the Colonists (the black South Africans (AKA ANC)) rebelling against them by almost all means.

Hmm imagine that i think you get the picture from my above said statement.

What does this have anything to do with South Africa?
Are you moving the goal posts again?

It's all about revolution and getting rid of oppression.

The USA had George Washington and the Blacks in South Africa had Nelson Mandela.

For those who call him a terrorist, it would be interesting to see some substantiation for this claim, other than throwing out terms that only serve a very dishonest agenda.

Terrorism involves the targeting of innocent civilians who are chosen BECAUSE they are random individuals, and perpetrated in order to instill the sort of fear in a general population as to achieve a desired political end. Could somebody please list the terrorist activities in which Mandela engaged or promoted?

I voted other, since I hear mixed things about him and I'm not really too sure what to think yet.

Think and say whatever you want to think and say.

Few people around here will condemn you for that.

That's just one of the reasons that Mandela was so incredibly special. From very early on in his llife he made clear his determination to champion equality for all of the people of South Africa. He didn't just sit back and turn a blind eye because he was in a better position than many others. Mandela's priority was ending Apartheid and he devoted his life to it.
His vision was a desire for his fellow citizens to be able to live in a country where everybody is equal, rich or poor, black or white, able or disable
d.

Martin Luther King, Jr., RIP, fought and died for the same things in the USA.

And like Mandela, King is applauded by most people and condemned by a few.
