I don't even know where I would get one of those.
I think it was drafted Saul Alinsky and edited by Obama's former Pastor

No American was ever drafted to go to the Iraq war. It was a volunteer force.
WWI, WWII, Vietnam... totally different story.
Yes I know. I never said you did. I just thought I'd make that perfectly clear to others in the forum. The USA did not draft any slaves to fight in the Iraq war.I never said they were. Please read more carefully.
That's your choice.
Lots of people who have made that choice ended up behind bars.
At a certain point if the government is going to claim they govern by consent they should actually offer a chance to provide it. Otherwise, it's just a government based on political slavery just like all other governments that came before it and no more worthy of governance than they were.
It really makes no difference if the governance provides people with benefits if those people never consented to the governance or to the benefits that are being provided. They are no more worthy of consideration than any other person or body of persons that provide people services without their consent. They are no more deservant of payment or service as anyone else you never consented to do business with.
I have no reason to move out of my home because a body of people that I never consented to offered me a choice regardless of what that choice might be.
Gender equality in the military is just a political tool and as the draft rules and physical standards show there is no seriousness behind it.
I have no obligation towards those that came before me and decided to fight for causes they found agreeable nor do I have an obligation towards the country as a whole that i never offered my consent to be part of. Just as the founders of this country swore no alliance to the king of england, I swore no alliance to the rulers of this land. Just as the founders had no obligation to fight for the causes of those that came before them, I have no obligation to fight for the causes of those that came before me. Just as those that came before me had the right to decide on their own free will what causes they were wiling to fight for, I have the right to decide on causes I am willing to fight for. Just because I was born under the rule of a body of people that wish to maintain their rule does not mean I'm obligated to assist them in their cause and grant them their desires. Just because I was born in a community of men, women and children in a certain land does not mean that I'm obligated to protect them or their property and die for their causes.
This came up in another thread. Do you believe that a country was the right to draft it's citizens into it's armed forces during a time of war.
I personally believed that it does if that country is going to survive.

In regards to the United States I'm talking about an official declaration of war being declared.
I would bet that you are not a real popular guy...

I don't like the idea, but i accept that it is sometimes necessary. When the freedom and protection of the country as a whole depends on the numbers defending it, then in the name of its people and their continued safety, drafting could be considered ok
Someone in your family certainly did, unless you are Native American, and you are bound by their choice...Otherwise, Uncle Fidel would gladly offer you a new home...
Do not belittle the many women who have already come home in body bags or with missing limbs...

I'm wondering: Will the draft include females? What will the cut off age be? Will being a college student exempt you from being drafted?

Many went to Canada, but kissed the ground when they were given amnesty and were able to come home.

Only if it's a legal war having gone through all the constitutionally mandated steps.

yes
Draft should include women in today's world.

That sounds like a reasonable idea to me.
If women can volunteer to join the U.S. Military why shouldn't they be drafted under the same conditions that they currently serve under/
