Theirs nothing restricting deployment of the army to secure the border.
 
We could send all our new enlistees to the border for basic training. No better firing range that being able to shoot at moving targets. Maybe we charge the recruits a buck per bullet, just to cut down on waste, but give them a $25 bonus for a live capture and a $50 bonus for every every kill.

Or we could charge civilians a hunting fee. Kinda like that new Carnival cruise where they go to Somolia. No casino on this cruse, but you can rent a high power rifle and play "whack a pirate". I heard that they will keep bringing you free drinks as long as you keep buying ammo.

Just kidding of course.

I know you're just kidding, but I'd be willing to bet that little plan would get a lot of support in some demographics in this country.
 
Militarizing is necessary for border patrol, it's a fact. For other people - no! Border is very dangerous place, especially Mexican! Immigrants, drug-cartels, etc. And this people will do everything to go to America. And if they can't do this legally, they will use every method to do that illegally. Usage of weapons is one of those "methods". Militarization of border patrol is necessity.
