I don't know.

My 7Mb/s internet access is included in my rent...along with my electricity, heat, trash removal, etc.

60mbps for 12euros ~= 15$.

I am planning on upgrading though (roughly 15euros~=18$ for 200mb) but if I do that, I lose my TV subscription that I currently have and need to get a new one... and that's kinda tricky.

I pay about $20 for 2.5 mbps. I can't stand that speed, but I guess it's the price I pay for living in a tiny mountain village. It would be more for near the same price if I were somewhere else.

BBC News - Why is broadband more expensive in the US?

because we allow cable monopolies and don't build as much public infrastructure. however, i think it's trending toward more competition with high speed wireless. i really feel for those who live way out in the country and have to deal with that ****ty satellite provider. i've read reviews, and pretty much every customer hates them.

if it were up to me, i'd probably use public money to expand access like the REA, which my grandfather worked for as an electrical engineer. of course, that would start all kinds of new fighting about taxes and socialism. until then, enjoy Hughesnet, i guess.

Are you planning to watch HD on the Internet? I don't see the point anyway.

About this much...

It's highway robbery!!

Well... no.
And it's more than enough for all online gaming requirements (I play World of Tanks online)
And it's more than enough for web development.
And it's more than enough for everything really even for watching 1080p on the internet.

But I could do with higher upload rate and with the 200mbps agreement I'll get around 10mb-14mb upload speed (I currently have between 4-6). And it will help getting more loyalty points with my ISP provider and the not have to worry about my internet for another 3-4 years which is like my update services cycle. Once ever 3-4 years I change most of my things Whether it be my phone and my phone services (get a better deal), my internet connection, my TV subscription, maybe see what my electricity and/or gas providers have as new contracts... etc.

If I had the money I'd also get a new PC because this laptop is 5 years old. In human years that's like it being 60. I needs some fake teeth (my laptop keyboard is shot so I use an external one), it's back is in pain (cooler works poorly) and it talks a lot about the good old days (makes a lot of noise when running any real application).

I was paying $55 a month for 8mbps. Now, I'm getting considerably less... but I'm getting it for free.

Free. I go to fast food joints and friends' houses for wi-fi. I'm so far out in the sticks, I can't get a phone signal unless I walk around outside with my phone held up to the skies.

Depends on the weather. If the weather is good, it's a deal. If the weather is bad, it's a complete rip off.

Comcast
I strongly dislike Comcast...my tolerance is stretched to the breaking point....
And, at least I am not the only one..,..who is ignorant
Nor do I know the speed...I could find out, If I could abide by the Comcast propaganda...and being placed on hold......
Better days are coming, I hope..
We need better keyboards...

You must be extremely patient and tolerant, Rat.
I had "dial-up" at first, a century ago, so slow that I came close to throwing away the entire system ($1000) down the drain....

Mine is part of a package that includes TV and phone so I don't know exactly how much just the Internet costs and I included the cost of the whole thing. I'm currently running at 75mb down and 50mb up though, which I figure is good for the moment, although I can go faster for not much more money.

40 $

However, the internet on mobile cost too much in my country.

It is: 1 mb = 1 $

BBC News - Why is broadband more expensive in the US?

My net costs me less than $10 per month for 14 mbps (this speed is enough for me).
How about you? :coffeepap

About $100 a month for around 1.5mb/s DSL. I live in the country with only the DSL from the small local phone company as a viable option other than dial up. Looked into some of the sat systems, but wasn't really that impressed with them and at least the phone line rarely goes out.

$49.99 = 20mbps

My Droid is my internet, so my bill is misleading. I don't pay for internet seporatly, its part of a package of services.

My Droid w/additional line, insurance for both divices, Lookout, 12gigs of data and unlimited everything else, is $220 per/mo. When I want to go online with my PC I'll turn on my Droid's wifi hotspot, or tether it.

I believe Verizon's internet speed is a 15/5, not sure though. I can play movies and games just fine.

I pay less than $18 a month for very fast 24/7 service.

Those who pay more in the USA are getting ripped off.

Unfortunately, for me, the only choices I have are dial-up (much slower than molasses) or Verizon air card or hot spot. The area I live in is low-lying, with ridges on all sides, and Verizon is the only one out of several that are available in my area, which works here. It runs me $50 per month, which I don't really like to pay, but it beats the alternative of dial-up any day of the week.
