So, it turns out that, during the meeting of Republicans with Obama, in the failed attempt to stop the government shutdown, Pete Sessions told Obama that he couldn't stand to look at him. So what do you think?

He did not say that. Someone whose name I should know in the Administration was shown on Fox News saying he had spoken to several people in attendance, and that was never said.

I don't know what Mr. Sessions reasons are, but I, personally, have no problem admitting that watching/listening to Obama makes me nauseous and whenever he is shown on TV I change the channel. It's not because of how he looks or the colour of his skin - it's that the man is a bald faced liar and the way the media fawns over him makes me sick. It's like a bad joke and I'm not participating.

The Senator from Michigan, Durbin, is the one that spread the story, which the White House denies - but Durbin is standing by his take on the matter.

Durbin is Illinois's democratic senator, not Michigan's. Michigan's senators are Carl Levin and Debbie Stabinow.

Pretty much par for the course for the right if true.

In my defense and in defense of the right, you have to admit that President Obama is far over-exposed and his preachy, aloof, superior persona is very off-putting particularly if you can't stand the man's politics and you can't believe the fool got elected not once, but twice.

So the left doesn't believe the WH that denies something was said because they really want what was said to have been said?

That is a first--the apologist have to betray Caesar because Caesar has given them so little to work with these days and they need something to pass the time in the two hours it takes them just to get their name sent to the Obamacare website, let alone their address.

Sure I've read multiple sources that mention those personality attributes. He's had a tough time building relationships.

At the same time...the right is synonymous with vitriol and anger by my generation and younger. Republican internal polling even shows it. Stories like this just feed that perception.

Meeting like that, I am pretty indifferent either way. Not what I would say, but in that setting, no big deal even if it is true.

Yeah they do.....its about vilifying the Repubs and keeping the media off the failings of Obamacare and his failed Foreign policy. We also have Greyson comparing the Tea Party to the KKK. Anything to stop Obama and his down-trending numbers.

Funny, I'm conservative, and I view the left as vitriolic and angry towards those who don't agree. Try watching debates on TV sometime or just the talking heads when you have a conservative and a liberal discussing an issue. Invariably, you'll find that the liberal turns the discussion personal far more often. Even when making a good point, the liberal does it in a very unappealling way.

Liberals have always been against free speech.

Libertarians have always been in favor of just making **** up since they have no facts.

See how easy that was? And my post is actually closer to accurate.

Honestly, I haven't noticed the right's talking heads being any better. I tend to agree with them more, but I haven't really noticed them actually debating in a more appealing way with less hyperbole and personal attacks. But I haven't actually counted, and I tend to think the worst of the talking heads of all political persuasions so you could be right.

I have limited exposure - I only watch CNN for American "live" news. From what I've seen on CNN, the liberals are rabidly so and the conservatives are moderately so - they occasionally get a rabid conservative, but he/she tends to disappear pretty quickly, but the rabid liberals have great staying power.

i think both sides have been engaging in guttural, personal hatred and utter partisan hackery. half of them wouldn't even get a response from me if they posted here and quoted my post. during the last administration, the idiots even made a fantasy movie about the President's death. they accused the president before that of murder, and impeached him over a blow job. it's ****ing insane, and we are all suffering because of it.

that being said, i haven't seen anything like this before. they have tried to block virtually everything this president has tried to do. the dems fought Bush on a lot of things, but gave him his wars, Medicare part D, and his bailout of too big to fail corporations. this current **** is absolutely beyond the pale.

do i think what he said is "despicable," though? no, it's just the mark of a partisan idiot dealing in emotion instead of logic. i'm all for people like that standing up and identifying themselves.

Oddly, I get the opposite impression. I suspect it has as much to do with us as them.

Heya CJ.....well to be honest. Joe Walsh on 560 Am radio after he heard what Grayson and Durbin did. He said if Durbin is allowed to make up stuff he will too. So then he called Durbin. A Deadbeat Dad. That was last night.

But he did bring up the point about what was trending and why too. ;)

Holy crap. A politician with the balls to tell someone the truth, and to their face even.

Gotta be a falsified story.
